Hugo Strange in The Dark Knight Rises?

Hugo Strange in The Dark Knight Rises?

Here’s a rumor that makes sense. The Prey, written by Doug Moench might be the influence for the next film. In The Prey, Batman is a fugitive, and a crazy guy named Dr. Hugo Strange pretends to be Batman due to his obsession with the caped crusader. The Dark Knight left off with Batman running from the law, so it makes sense.

Weekend Movie Review Roundup: I Love Black Warriors Edition

warriors way Weekend Movie Review Roundup: I Love Black Warriors Edition

This week brings us several new movies including a Korean/American movie that’s similar to 300 in style.  Jim Carrey is back with a comedy while director Darren Aronofsky directs Natalie Portman in a drama.  Let’s take a look at the movies.

Warrior’s Way is from a Korean director, Sngmoo Lee.  The movie has the “300” effect with the green screen background and lots of blood.  The critics at Rotten Tomatoes are divided with this movie, scoring a 45%.  Some say it’s good while others say it’s a little bit much.  The story is about a swordsman who comes to Western U.S. …

Battle: Los Angeles Trailer 2

Trailer 2:

Trailer 1:

I like the first trailer way better, it feels more epic and dramatic. And, the song works very well! So far, this is going to be my most anticipated movie of 2011.

Release Date: March 11, 2011…

Robocop Remake?

Robocop Remake?

robocop Robocop Remake?

Perhaps, if MGM gets back on its feet after filing bankruptcy, there is a chance that they might push the project. Darren Aronofsky (The Wrestler, Requiem for a Dream) will be directing The Wolverine next, but is very interested in remaking Robocop.

Hmm, I did enjoy the first Robocop because of the action sequences, but mainly because it was dark and somewhat sad. Aronofsky’s The Wrester was pretty dark too, and I really liked the feel of the film. So, I think he can pull it off. Let’s cross our fingers and hope that MGM gives Robocop a go.…

Victoria’s Secret Commercial by Michael Bay

Victoria’s Secret Commercial by Michael Bay

As most fans already know, Michael Bay has worked with Victoria’s Secret before, along with Chevrolet. Here’s his new Victoria’s Secret commercial.

I’m a big Michael Bay admirer, but this commercial is boring and too superficial (yes, even for Michael Bay). There’s no depth behind his camera play, and the flickering effect is getting a little old. But, the real question is how many of these girls did Bay hook up with?…

Social Network Picked As Film Of The Year

Social Network Picked As Film Of The Year

The National Board of Review for films has picked David Fincher’s Social Network as the film of the year, citing as best film, best actor (Jesse Eisenberg), and best screenplay.

Social network2 Social Network Picked As Film Of The Year

Okay, I enjoyed this film just like the next guy, but winning an award as best film sounds silly. The film was entertaining but not without flaws. Firstly, many parts of the film were fictionalized to make it more dramatic, so don’t think that building a billion dollar company is that straight forward. Secondly, Justin Timberlake’s character is just annoying, what’s with the plastic-looking face. Why does Fincher insist on adding …

Blu-ray Review: Highlander (Director’s Cut)

Blu-ray Review: Highlander (Director’s Cut)

Highlander Blu ray Blu ray Review: Highlander (Directors Cut)

Highlander is an enduring cult classic and one of my favorite movies of all time. On blu-ray for the first time, Highlander’s video and audio quality are much improved, if not perfect. This is the best the movie has ever looked though. The video is generally sharp and much brighter than the muddled VHS and DVD copies of the past. For Highlander fans, this is as good as the moive has ever looked, and that makes this a must-buy.

Highlander is about an immortal named Connor MacLeod (brooding Christopher Lambert) who has been battling other immortals across time until there is …

Mark Wahlberg In ‘The Fighter’

This film is based on a true story about a boxer (Mark Wahlberg) and his brother (Christian Bale). I remembered watching HBO’s 24/7, Wahlberg and Bale was watching Manny Pacquaio train at Freddie Roach’s camp.

This film looks good, it might be a little slow, but the acting looks superb.…
