Netflix Will Exclusively Stream

Netflix Will Exclusively Stream

netflix2 Netflix Will Exclusively Stream

Oh my!  How the mighty Netflix has fallen.  It’s been obvious several years ago that they wanted their subscribers to stream instead of mailed movies.  Streaming in theory will give them more profit since they won’t need as manpower as filing and sending out movies.  Unfortunately for them, the transition hasn’t been smooth.  TV shows on stream are great because Netflix has a wide variety.  But if you’re a movie fan like me, that’s not enough to convert me to streaming.  I don’t want to wait several months to see it, I want to see it in…..a month (with WB and …

conaaaaaaaaan Hacker Puts Professor Conan T. Barbarian on University Website

I bet you thought this guy was all brawn and no brains.  Not according to the University of Dublin.  While some hackers like Anonymous are out trying to change the world, others just want to make us laugh a little.  I am sure that some in the English Department of the U of Dub got a chuckle or two out of this, but many were not laughing when people were actually trying to sign up for Professor Barbarian’s courses… especially considering this school boasts being ranked 5th in Europe and 32nd in the entire world.  Here’s a little snippet of …

Expendables 2 Cast Adds Some Young Meat

Expendables 2 Cast Adds Some Young Meat

The one aspect of the Expendables that set the film apart from your usual action fare was that the main characters were all a bit – shall we say – experienced?   But maybe what the film needed was something that might draw in younger audiences.  I can’t really think of a better way to accomplish this than to cast someone like Liam Hemsworth.  The younger Hemsworth (brother to Thor star Chris Hemsworth) will be playing a sniper-type guy, so that’s cool, right?  (Although I kinda think he’d make a great-looking nerd!)  He’ll be joining such infamous last names as Stallone, …

Lion King 3-D In Theaters Today

lionking3d Lion King 3 D In Theaters Today

Before being released next month on Blu-Ray 3D, Lion King 3D will have a special 2 week theater engagement starting today.  I saw the 3D version at D23 last month and while it had average 3D effects, the songs and music made it a memorable experience.  Hans Zimmer’s score is one of his best and it’s epic, especially when Simba is running back to Pride Rock.  The songs were great too and it flows really well within the movie as it actually progresses the story.

Back to 3D, the intro was really good because of all the animals moving in the …

Blu-Ray Review: Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop

cantstop Blu Ray Review: Conan OBrien Cant Stop

In 2010, late night comedian, Conan O’Brien, got booted from NBC because the studio didn’t find the ratings satisfactory.  Jay Leno once again took over the Tonight Show, leaving O’Brien unemployed.  Majority of the media and public thought Conan got screwed by the network.  The studio freaked about the ratings and wanted change right away.  NBC should’ve given more time to Conan to connect with the viewers.

O’Brien and all of his team, including the band and sidekick, Andy Richter decided to do a 30 city comedy tour called, “Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour.”  The documentary covers the …

]The Raid Poster Final Red Band Trailer: The Raid (2012) (Indonesia)

(Warning:  This red band trailer is not for kiddies or the squeamish).

So, are you ready for some ultraviolence?   These guys make the Expendables look like losers.  (Or is it The Losers?)  Just knowing that the film was made in Indonesia, right away I pictured gritty, dirty violence and that’s exactly what you get.  Also, not surprisingly seeing as Indonesia has a very large population of Muslims, the main character is one, too.

The Toronto Film Festival opened Friday night’s Midnight Madness with The Raid.  According to The Hollywood Reporter, audience members at the screening were “cheering, wincing …

The Sword Identity is a martial arts film out of China set during the Ming Dynasty.  It is getting a lot of positive reviews for its cinematography and unique approach to the martial arts genre.  Screenwriter Xu Haofeng, also an expert in Taoist studies, the Chinese culture and martial arts, is making his directorial debut.

Here is a synopsis according to Twitch:

Once upon a time in the Southern Chinese city of Guancheng, there lived four families, each of them faithful keepers of martial arts. Anyone who wanted to establish a new school, or a new form of kung fu,
