Red Lights Poster 1 Trailer Review: Red Lights (2012)

“Are you questioning my power?  Am I just a joke to you?”  It’s been a while since we’ve seen Robert de Niro play a psycho.  Although from the trailer it’s hard to tell whether he’s a psycho, a psychic or both.  But Cillian Murphy’s in it and so is Sigourney Weaver from Aliens. I’m a fan of all three actors so I’m interested to see how they work together. The supernatural thriller is directed by Rodrigo Cortes (Buried) and also stars Elizabeth Olsen, sister to the famous gazillionaire fraternal twins.  Red Lights is set for a March 2nd …

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter Teaser Trailer

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter Teaser Trailer

This movie looks great.  It’s directed by Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) so I already know it will be sensory overload.  It’s about Abe Lincoln as a vampire hunter besides being a president.  I thought the movie was going to look cheap but the production looks nice and epic:

Transformers 4 Directed By Bay Again – Reboot

Transformers 4 Directed By Bay Again – Reboot

I think this might be a first in Hollywood history where a franchise gets a reboot by the same director who worked on the previous movies.  It’s also probably a first that it still acknowledges the previous trilogy for a reboot.  I had a hunch Bay was going to do another Transformers installment after he talked about having doubts leaving the franchise to a different director in the TF 3 Blu-ray extra (3D version).  I’m sure the amount of money he gets paid for these movies is also a reason why he keeps doing them.

Amazing Spider-Man Trailer #2

Amazing Spider-Man Trailer #2

The first trailer for the Spider-Man was a turn off because Peter Parker was super emo.  Sony probably listened to the complaints and the tone is different for the new trailer.  It’s darker and instead of a whiner, Peter Parker seems like he has anger issues.  The action scenes look great, I like how they’re incorporating parkour into it.  While not perfect, the CG also looks better than Raimi’s trilogy.

Release date is July 3, 2012 and will also be shown in 3D.…

ch 5 G.I. Joe Drops it Like its Hot on SNL

Did you know Channing Tatum of G.I. Joe fame was a stripper before he became an actor?  I had no idea.  I’ve never been a huge fan of his work but I have to say, he was pretty funny last night on SNL.  Comedy is some of the most difficult type of acting there is and I’ve seen a lot of actors come on this show and basically get carried by the rest of the SNL cast.  I didn’t see this with Tatum.  The guy definitely has comedic skill and was able to hold his own alongside the other more seasoned …

Movie Review: Chronicle

Movie Review: Chronicle

Chronicle Poster Movie Review: Chronicle

Chronicle is a fresh and entertaining take on the whole “found footage” genre. It’s not a horror movie at all, it’s more of a superhero morality play. It’s also grounded in the reality of its subjects and teen angst. Unlike the overrated Blair Witch Project and Cloverfield, the whole “shaky cam” bit is kept to a minimum, while the special effects are seamless and extremely effective. Chronicle also benefits from some nice acting from its mostly unknown cast and a lean running time that never overstays its welcome. Movie critics (who clearly don’t watch much TV) are missing out on the …

chronicle ver3 Superhero Film Chronicle Opens Today

With taglines like “Not all heroes are super” and “Boys will be Boys,” not to mention a movie poster with a guy flipping the bird in front of a similar cloud formation, Chronicle gives off an impression like it might be one of those questionable low-budget films you come across streaming on Netflix. But apparently, this is one of those cases of “don’t judge a movie by its poster.”

Interestingly enough, Chronicle has already received an 86% audience response on Rotten Tomatoes and a 7.2 out of 10 favorable response out of 98 critics. Here is the synopsis according to IMDB
