Disney has released the first pic of ‘Maleficent.’  Jolie plays the title role.  This is an origins movie telling her full story and how she became bad.  Let me guess…at first, she’s a kind good-hearted girl.  But then something bad happens and she blames herself and becomes the evil witch.  Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland and the recent Snow White movie has me less excited about this project.  It seems like they can do so much more with these realistic fairy tale movies but they focus too much on the visuals.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows is an interesting movie that goes overboard.  The whole team is back for the sequel including Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law and director Guy Ritchie (Snatch).  The story is actually pretty interesting because of the villain, Moriarty.  Just like Holmes, he’s really smart and a good fighter.  It’s cool watching the brainiacs interact because they try to outsmart each other.  The story is confusing but to make it short, Moriarty wants the world to go to war so he can be ultra RICH by selling ammunitions.  The movie is really nice to look at, especially …

The latest DC Animated Originals movie has arrived, and I must say my early impressions were way off. Superman vs The Elite is one of the best DC animated movies, and it is one of my favourite Superman stories of all time. This is movie is right up there with Batman: Under the Red Hood, yes it is THAT good!

Safety Not Guaranteed is a film about three reporters who do a story on a guy who puts a classified ad in the personals looking for someone to time travel with him. It’s brought to you by the people behind Little Miss Sunshine. It just opened yesterday to a limited release across the U.S., receiving a 91% out of 45 critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes and an 87% out of 4,475 viewer rating.

After 4 crappy Alien mythology movies (Aliens 3 & 4, AVP 1 & 2), the facehugging franchise is back on track.  All it took was Ridley Scott to return and direct it again.  The man filmed the first Alien way back in the year 1979.  Best thing going for Prometheus is that it can be enjoyed as a stand alone flick.  I have a feeling that non Alien fans will enjoy it more than the hardcore crowd…. simply because of expectations.  It’s best to watch this movie as a horror sci-fi movie with a little bit of Space Jockey easter egg …

John Carter is a science fiction classic adapted from an Edgar Rice Burroughs (Tarzan) book released in the early 1900s. The book is considered a literary classic by many, but the film is a different story. However, it deserves more credit that it received.
