Dark Knight Scribe Goyer to Redo Godzilla in 2014

Since Warner Brothers has all but abandoned the Akira remake, it would seem they’ve got $90 million burning a hole in their pockets. Why not go for yet another remake of a Japanese classic? This time, it’s the most iconic of all monster films: Godzilla. This appears to be an origin fim, and like what audiences seem to prefer these days, stuff is gonna be dark and gritty.

Look for Godzilla to start ravaging cities around May 16, 2014 and, oh yeah, it’ll be in 3D. Gareth Edwards (Monsters) will be directing and Goyer will be collaborating with …

A sad day for us guys (AKA me) that wanted too see an even longer version of TDKR, Nolan has confirmed that there will NOT be such a version of the film either this December or right before Man of Steel.

While this is isn’t a shock for some, it leaves in question as to what is going to happen with the Bane origin that was reportedly cut out of the film, will it be a deleted scene? Doubtful too since Nolan isn’t big on deleted scenes either, so we may never see Bane’s true origin….…

We might not get to see the American live-action adaptation of Akira any time soon but artist Jeffrey Errico, who worked on the opening storyboards for the now shelved project, has given us a little something to remember it by. Although the project had a director and two lead actors (Garrett Hedlund and Kristen Stewart), budgeting issues caused it to be shut down.

Here is a synopsis of what could have been:

Kaneda is a bar owner in Neo-Manhattan who is stunned when his brother, Tetsuo, is abducted by government agents led by The Colonel. Desperate to get his brother

I ended up watching the films backwards for some reason, from most recent to oldest. But really, the story makes so many time jumps anyway, it kinda works.

Disc Breakdown:

1. The Terminator – The first installment of the Terminator films looks decent. …

Haifaa al Mansour is making history at the Venice Film Festival by being the first female film director from Saudi Arabia to be shown there. She’s also being considered the first female Saudi filmmaker ever. In a country so closed off they don’t even have movie theaters, this is a big deal for any filmmaker from Saudi Arabia, aside from being a woman.

Her film is called Wadjda and it’s about a 10-year-old girl in Riyadh who defies customs and wants to own a bicycle (I’m thinking because girls aren’t allowed to ride bikes there?) When she can’t get enough money …
