The latest of the DC Animated films has arrived! And it is an adaptation of one the comic book industries biggest game changers (along with Watchmen), The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller. This is a legendary story that pretty much setup modern day comic books thanks to its dark themes and mature story line. Now Ive never been a big fan of the graphic novel, I do enjoy reading it from time to time.  It just always seemed like something that would work better as a movie , rather than a comic book.Well DC gave me the animated version of

Dredd Bombs!!! Cinema in NA Dying?

Dredd Bombs!!! Cinema in NA Dying?

Dredd poster outdoor billboard Dredd Bombs!!! Cinema in NA Dying?

Yet another sad day for people (AKA me) who enjoyed Dredd, the film made only 2.2 million in its opening day worldwide and is expected to gross only 5.7 million during in NA. I had to triple check this news due to my utter disbelief, im still puzzled by this as Dredd has gotten nearly unanimous critical acclaim and it was in 3-d but it looks like that didn’t help much.

Many people say that the film had a limited audience due to its R rating, but that simply isn’t true since Kick Ass was also R rated and it earned …

Movie Review: DREDD 3-D

Movie Review: DREDD 3-D

timthumb Movie Review: DREDD 3 D

I was not excited for Dredd, in fact before going to see it I was mentally preparing myself for another genericsci-fi/action movie with a comic book character slapped onto it and boy was I wrong! Dredd 3-D is easily one of the best films I have seen this year and you would be doing yourself a dis service by not seeing it!

The greatest thing about this film is the very character of Judge Dredd, a character that is sort of a mix between Nolans Batman and Rorschach from Watchmen. He is a man who has completely devoted himself to enforcing …

Originally released in 2003 as a sixty minute 3D documentary, “Ghosts Of The Abyss” is finding its way to the blu-ray format.  The movie is extended to 90 minutes in the 2D version, while 3D remains at 60 minutes.  Directed by James Cameron (Titanic), he goes back to the ship 12,000 feet below sea level with actor Bill Paxton.  Using 2 small subs and several Russian crew, they document what Titanic looks like present day.  Using innovative cameras, the movie shows hard to get through places including small rooms and quarters.  As the subs are traveling through the huge ship, it …

akira1 Akira Storyboards Showing Tetsuo Posted Online

A few days ago, Jeffrey Errico posted some storyboards he did for the opening scenes of Warner’s live-action Akira. Now artist Chris Weston has posted pics of storyboards that he created for the film on his website. These show Tetsuo and some night scenes in “Neo-Manhattan.”

Weston had this to say about his work on the film: “Here’s some of the storyboards I drew for Albert Hughes’ live-action adaptation of Katsuhiro Otomo’s classic graphic novel,”Akira”. Here’s a few of them; hopefully they reveal just how much love we had for the source material and how faithful we were going to
