My Evening With Bruce Campbell

My Evening With Bruce Campbell

160full My Evening With Bruce Campbell

I met Bruce Campbell last night and had a blast.  He was in town promoting his latest film called My Name is Bruce.  While the film was campy fun, it was Bruce himself that made for a totally memorable night.  It was a rainy and miserable night here in Philadelphia until the great Bruce Campbell showed up.  All 3 showings were pre-sold out and I was at the first one, the 7:45pm showing.  The movie theatre holds around 150 people and every seat was filled.

Bruce came down the aisle mic in hand and introduced the film.  After the film was …

Film Review: My Name Is Bruce

Cult television/film actor Bruce Campbell is a very funny guy.  His new film is all things to all fans.  It’s campy, cheesy as Hell, and a lot of fun.  There’s almost no plot and the film has almost no appeal outside the hardcore Campbell fanbase.  Those fans will eat up My Name is Bruce though.  It’s low-brow fun and has a paltry 85 minute runtime.  Even at that short runtime, the inspiration flags towards the end, but the film is an entertaining ride for his fans.

My Name is Bruce features Bruce Campbell as…..Bruce Campbell.  A hyper-realized and nasty version of …

Movie Review: Max Payne

bad vibrations Movie Review: Max Payne
Just let me get this out of the way, having played the game, this movie doesn’t even compare. If you want the true Max Payne experience, your best bet is the PC original.

Slight Spoilers Ahead

As a movie by itself, it still fails. The key thing that made Max Payne a great game, was the cheesy narration and non-stop John Woo/Matrix style action. Without the narration by Max Payne, he ends up being one dimensional.  In the movie, he doesn’t have any interesting or clever smartass dialogue. Mark Wahlberg’s acting, and his fellow supporting characters also contribute to the bad …

Star Wars Fan Vs. Punk-Ass

Star Wars Fan Vs. Punk-Ass

This is a clip from Star Wait.  Hehe, punk kids harasses fans waiting in line for Star Wars.  The little punk goes too far and gets a serving of Jar Jar ass-kicking.

On the one hand,  the punk got what he deserved.  On the other hand, the Star Wars fan is a huge grown man.  He shouldn’t even let it affect him.  But I did enjoy the video.…

I’m not gonna write much here. You guys know the backstory behind Harvey Dent. I just want to show you guys some cool pics from Hot Toys. This guy is about 12″ tall and would probably run at about $175, just like the Dark Knight and the Joker.

“The night is darkest just before the dawn. And I promise you, the dawn is coming.”

The infamous D.A., Harvey Dent. The headsculpt is impressive, Aaron Eckhart’s likeness is spot on.

There’s a lot of hype surrounding Bill Maher’s documentary Religulous. Say what you will about Maher or the film, it’s very funny and even informative. Maher makes his feelings on religion very well known at the outset and this lends the film an easy sense of light humor. Ben Stein does no such thing in his vile “documentary” Expelled. Stein uses trickery and half-truths to convince people that he is just a proponent of intelligent design and how it is different from Creationism. …

don cheadle and terrence howard shirtless Don Cheadle to be War Machine, Not Terrence Howard

Hollywood Reporter reported that Don Cheadle will be taking over the role of Jim Rhodes in the Iron Man sequel.  It seems that negotations between Terrence Howard and Marvel about his pay didn’t work out.

Looks like there won’t be a “next time” for Terrence as War Machine.  I enjoyed his role opposite of Robert Downey Jr., but now with Cheadle on board, I guess the movie can focus on being more dark and serious.

What I was really hoping for was that Marvel would decide that Terrence and Cheadle wouldn’t be needed for the role of Jim Rhodes, but they …
