Get doooooooowwwn….to your local card shops in May.  Topps is releasing trading cards for Terminator Salvation.  The cards will have inserts such as Embossed Foil robots, as well as pop up battle cards.  Since when did trading cards start doing pop ups?

The ones I really want to get are the autograph cards.  Imagine having John Connor’s/Bruce Wayne’s autograph…that would be Christian Bale.   The retail price is $2 per pack.  Check out below for a preview of the cards.  The concept sketches are pretty cool:

Justin Lin returns from Tokyo Drift and directs the 4th sequel Fast and Furious (yes, “the” is left out). All the players are back from the original with Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster. It’s how you say, “Old models, same parts.” Apparently bringing out the original cast benefited the movie since the weekend opened with $71 million.

Movie:

If you like to be bored and depressed, Seven Pounds is the perfect movie for you.  Will Smith and director, Gabrielle Muccino (Pursuit of Happyness) have teamed up again for another drama.  While Pursuit of Happyness was uplifting, Seven Pounds is too egotistical for its own good. 

We learn in the beginning of the movie that Ben Thomas (Will Smith) is going to commit suicide.  Flashback to the days leading to the suicide and we find out that Ben Thomas is a miserable, creepy guy.  He stalks the people he wants to help and invades their privacy.  …

Just when I was praising Netflix last week, I got an e-mail from them telling me that my subscription is going up by $2 in late May.  They’re charging extra for Blu-ray.  This isn’t the first time they’ve done this, they started charging me an extra $1 per month in January.  So over a course of 6 months, the price will go up by $3.  By the end of May, instead of paying $14.99 ($1 Blu-ray fee included), I’ll be paying $16.99.

$3 raise in a course of 6 months is pretty damn ballsy for Netflix.  I was pissed at …

Hollywood is buzzing with the news that James Cameron will direct Terminator 5.  Apparently, he saw a rough cut of Terminator 4: Salvation and enjoyed where the story was heading.  I guess McG did a great job.  Just like the first two movies, he’ll also be writing the story.  I’m really excited about this because:

1)  If Cameron enjoyed T4, that means it must be entertaining.

2)  Hopefully he’ll finish off the franchise that he created.  Part 3 was okay but ruined the story of part two.

I’m actually one of the few that enjoyed Spider-Man 3. I enjoyed emo Parker dancing, jumping and jiving. Many say it’s cheesy, but that’s the reason why I loved it.

Let’s not forget we had many cheesy moments in Spider-Man 1 and 2 also. Remember the scene in part 1 where Parker wrestles against Bonesaw? One of the wrestlers was being carried away screaming out in agony, “Oh god my leg. I can’t feel my leg!” Classic cheese moment. How about the scene in part 2 where Peter Parker tries to be normal, walking without his glasses and tripping while “Raindrops …

Judging from the previews that I saw for JCVD, I had no idea it was a French film, nor did I know that the French worships Mr. Van Damme. Going into the movie, all I knew was JCVD stood for his initials.

The story sounds pretty interesting. Jean-Claude plays himself as he tries to get back on his feet from losing movie roles to Steven Segal and losing visitation rights to see his daughter. So the “Muscles from Brussels” goes back to Belgium. I didn’t know that French was also an official language in Belgium; that explains how Jean-Claude can speak …

I used to badmouth Netflix because I would only get 1 shipment of movies per week.  Then I found out that it was USPS that was lagging, not Netflix.  I read on a forum that I should drop off my movies at the post office drop box for fast processing.  I tried it out and now I get about 2 shipment of movies per week.
