Accidental Transformers 2 Haulage

Accidental Transformers 2 Haulage

 Accidental Transformers 2 Haulage

I was playing basketball with friends for a good two hours.  Afterwards we ate a Mexican restaurant where the talk turned geeky.  We talked about upcoming movies we were excited to watch as well as action figures, specifically Mighty Muggs.  We shared which Muggs’ we had, as well as the ones we wanted to get.  We all decided to go on a Mighty Muggs hunt at a local Wal Mart, which opened 24 hours.

So we go to Wal Mart and go directly to the toy section.  We noticed about 5 people waiting by the action figure line.  What the hell …

Megan Fox Takes Down Wonder Woman

Megan Fox Takes Down Wonder Woman

transformers 03 300x199 Megan Fox Takes Down Wonder Woman

This just in from the  Times Online, Megan Fox thinks Wonder Woman is lame.

“Wonder Woman is a lame superhero,” says Megan Fox to the Sun Times. “She flies around in her invisible jet and her weaponry is a lasso that makes you tell the truth. I just don’t get it. Somebody has a big challenge on their hands whoever takes that role but I don’t want to do it.”

Megan Fox is a lame actress. She talks crap about Scarlet Johanson for being smart and pretty, and Zack Efron and Robert Pattinson for being inexperienced. I just don’t get …

John Spartan Mildly Enjoys Terminator: Salvation

John Spartan Mildly Enjoys Terminator: Salvation

terminator salvation poster 1 195x300 John Spartan Mildly Enjoys Terminator: Salvation

McG takes a crack at directing the latest Terminator flick that’s planned to be the first of a trilogy chronicling John Connor’s war against Skynet and the machines. Being a fan of Terminator 2, it’s hard not to compare Salvation to James Cameron’s masterpiece. As a film in the Terminator mythology, Salvation feels like one big tease. It’s got a great premise, but the movie would rather focus less on drama and more on action, making the movie feel like nothing’s at stake.

Terminator: Salvation takes place in an apocalyptic future where Skynet has destroyed most of mankind and is rounding …

taken DVD Review: Taken

At first blush, Liam Neeson may seem an odd choice to play a Jason Bourne-esque father seeking some Albanian thugs who kidnapped his daughter to sell her into a sexual slavery ring. Neeson is older now and almost Zen in so many roles, but he’s perfectly cast in Taken. He makes a thoroughly convincing action hero searching for his kidnapped teenage daughter. Taken is directed with style and brutal efficiency. It moves quickly and is paced well. At only 93 minutes long, it’s a perfect flick for fans of action thrillers.

Neeson plays Bryan, the estranged father of a 17 year …

Phantom Menace Released 10 Years Ago

Phantom Menace Released 10 Years Ago

Wow, I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since Star Wars: Episode 1 – Phantom Menace came out in theatres.  I remember the crazy hype before the movie was released:  kids meal tie ins, stores opening at midnight to sell Star Wars Merchandise, record breaking number of downloads for the trailer.  I fell for the hype.  I must have watched the quicktime trailer at least 10 times. I also bought Star Wars memorabilia from the Legos’, toys and the cups at Taco Bell.

I skipped school the day the movie came out and watched it with my brother.  The line wasn’t …

DVD Review: S. Darko

s darko DVD Review: S. Darko

Donnie Darko was truly an original and memorable movie. Darko was written and directed by a young and gifted filmmaker named Richard Kelly. The movie struck a massive chord with its intended audience after the studio botched its theatrical run. The DVD sold like hotcakes and was one of my favorite films of 2001. Flash forward to the here and now and we have S. Darko, a pseudo-intellectual wet noodle of a debacle. S. Darko is nearly unwatchable and easily the worst film of the year so far. Poorly acted (most of the miscast young actors stumble around vacantly and able …

star trek Movie Review: Star Trek

I just got back from the much-hyped reboot of the tired and sullen Star Trek franchise, which ended choking on its own fumes of self-importance and boredom with its last film called Nemesis. The new Star Trek is faster, funnier, and fresher than anything I could have imagined. The casting is note-perfect, the story is engaging, and the effects are top-notch. You could not have asked for a better summer action film. The crowd was really into it as well, and we all had a blast. It was a bit disconcerting to see a geeky young woman around 20 shaking and …

Movie Review: Star Trek

star trek poster 202x300 Movie Review: Star Trek

The new Star Trek “reboot” has made me a believer. Does this mean I’m turning into a Trekkie? Now “Wrath of Kahn” and the original series are on my list of things to watch. The last episode that I remembered watching of the series was when Captain Kirk and Spock goes back in time and gets captured by the Italian mafia since their phasers were no match for the mob’s Tommy gun. Cheese to the max!

The new Star Trek by J.J. Abrams has it all, action, suspense, comedy, adventure, and character driven plots. You won’t find long dull dialogues …

chowk DVD Review: Chandni Chowk to China

Chandni Chowk to China is a hugely disappointing and overlong mess. Despite a few clever musical numbers and an amusing moment here or there, the film is a drag. It goes on for an oppressive and endless 2 1/2 hours and picks up almost no momentum along the way. The plot (what little there is) takes forever to get going. The star of the film (Akshay Kumar) is a huge Bollywood star but he shows little here except for an uncanny knack to be annoying and a few cool martial arts moves. He’s like a more irritating Indian Ace Ventura.

Kumar …
