Black Friday: DEAL EXCEL SPREADSHEET!

Black Friday: DEAL EXCEL SPREADSHEET!

Thanksgiving means only two things: eating till your back hurts and shopping till your wallet hurts!

The day after Thanksgiving is notorious for ridiculous deals every year.  BLACK FRIDAY, the day in which millions of shoppers line up for hours, tent out of shopping malls, and wait in anticipation for those outrageous deals normally available at a certain time frame and with limited quantities.

The normal routine would include a delicious Thanksgiving dinner followed by pumpkin pie. Crawl into bed for a quick nap, then off to the store to meet up with others who are at the same place …

Twilight: New Moon, Crushes Nerds!

twilight new moon poster11 Twilight: New Moon, Crushes Nerds!

You know how nerds are suppose to be serious business when it comes to their favorite franchises making it to the big screen?  Year after year, “nerd” movies such as the Lord Of The Rings, Transformers, Dark Knight,  and Harry Potter break box office records.   Well, that trend might have just come to an end as Twilight: New Moon is reported to have raked in $26 million on midnight showings alone.  The demographics for Twilight are teenage girls that aren’t really considered nerdy but after this, will they be considered nerds?

Here’s a report from Deadline.com:

“BREAKING NEWS! FRIDAY AM: …

Kick Ass Poster I Cant Fly Kick Ass Teaser Trailer Will Ummm…Kick Your Ass!

Oh yeah! The newest movie adapted by comic book writer Mark Millar’s work, Kick-Ass is a story about a regular kid, Dave Lizewski (Johnson), who dreams of becoming a superhero and actually tries to pull it off. He doesn’t have powers or anything, but he will kick your ass!

This reminds me of myself when I was younger, dreaming to be like Batman, but in Manhattan, to fight crime. Since I figured I wouldn’t be able to wear his fancy tights and afford his cool gadgets, I figured I would use practical and non-deadly weapons. I made a blueprint of myself …

Genshiken Volume 1 Anime Review: Genshiken 2 Volume 1 DVD

The anime series Genshiken is one of the best comedy/slice of life animes around. It has a gentle pace and pokes fun at the otaku (hard-core anime fans) in a mocking, but ultimately lovable way. The show has charm and wit and moves along at its own pace. It has the feel of real life instead of the more over-caffeinated anime comedies around such as Excel Saga or FLCL, but that suits this wonderful series just fine. The first series of episodes came out way back in 2005. Media Blasters has finally released Genshiken 2 in America and I must say, …

Best Movies of the Decade: 2000-2008

Mysterious Skin Best Movies of the Decade: 2000 2008

Here’s my list of the best movies of the decade 2000-2008:

2000

American Psycho: Terrific mix of black comedy, satire, and slasher flick with a stand-out performance from Christian Bale.

Requiem for a Dream: Easily one of the most depressing movies I’ve ever seen, I’ve still only seen it once.

Almost Famous: Cameron Crowe’s affable, warm, and memorable look at a rock band and the kid who idolized them.

Best in Show: Hilarious Chris Guest mockumentary about dog shows.

Memento: Chris Nolan’s cool, convoluted film noir with excellent twists and turns along the way.

2001

Sony NETFLIX PS3 Netflix is Now Available on the PS3

Netflix is now available to you on the PS3. Welcome to last year Sony, but it’s better late than never. Okay, it wasn’t Sony’s fault that Microsoft likes to spend millions on exclusives, thus leaving Sony in the dust. But now that Netflix has come to the PS3, it has become the ultimate entertainment system, with Blu-ray and streaming movies and shows over the internet. Well this really isn’t nothing new for you 360 owners, but now Netflix is able to reach into a wider audience.

A minor drawback for me is the use of a disc to watch Netflix on …

Early DVD Review: Bruno

Early DVD Review: Bruno

Bruno DVD Early DVD Review: Bruno

Bruno is a spitball lobbed with deadly accuracy at homophobes, hypocrites, and pretty much anyone else in its comedic path. Raunchy and sure to shock, Bruno also comes with a message of tolerance a lot of people seemed to miss during its theatrical run. The movie is decidedly un-PC. Sascha Baron Cohen’s creation Bruno is a flamboyant, gay Austrian fashion reporter out to become a star. From its pre-credit scene set to techno (the music is terrific), to a post credit song for peace and love, Bruno is a good way spend 80 minutes or so. It’s not for everyone, but …

A Christmas Carol Pay Off One Sheet A Christmas Carol Premiere in London

A Christmas Carol, a timeless Christmas tale, has been reimagined by Robert Zemeckis. Gone are the days of his good ol’ fashion 80s movies like Back to the Future. Now CG animated movies are all that Mr. Zemeckis wants to do (Polar Express, Beowulf).

To celebrate the movie’s release tomorrow, November 6, 2009, we have some red carpet photos from the London world premiere (courtesy of Disney) for you to check out. BTW, who let the hobo in the red carpet?

New Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Trailer

New Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Trailer

Oh yes, Disney and Bruckheimer are back again from Pirates of the Caribbean to bring you Persians!

Having played Sands of Times, I’m really looking forward to this movie based on the game of the same name. I’m hoping this succeeds so that other video game movies can get a huge ass budget. But then I do love me some craptastic movies like Jean Claude’s Street Fighter, Super Mario Bros., and Double Dragon. So do you think the Prince of Persia can take on King Leonidas?…
