Thanksgiving means only two things: eating till your back hurts and shopping till your wallet hurts!

The day after Thanksgiving is notorious for ridiculous deals every year.  BLACK FRIDAY, the day in which millions of shoppers line up for hours, tent out of shopping malls, and wait in anticipation for those outrageous deals normally available at a certain time frame and with limited quantities.

You know how nerds are suppose to be serious business when it comes to their favorite franchises making it to the big screen?  Year after year, “nerd” movies such as the Lord Of The Rings, Transformers, Dark Knight,  and Harry Potter break box office records.   Well, that trend might have just come to an end as Twilight: New Moon is reported to have raked in $26 million on midnight showings alone.  The demographics for Twilight are teenage girls that aren’t really considered nerdy but after this, will they be considered nerds?

Oh yeah! The newest movie adapted by comic book writer Mark Millar’s work, Kick-Ass is a story about a regular kid, Dave Lizewski (Johnson), who dreams of becoming a superhero and actually tries to pull it off. He doesn’t have powers or anything, but he will kick your ass!

The anime series Genshiken is one of the best comedy/slice of life animes around. It has a gentle pace and pokes fun at the otaku (hard-core anime fans) in a mocking, but ultimately lovable way. The show has charm and wit and moves along at its own pace. It has the feel of real life instead of the more over-caffeinated anime comedies around such as Excel Saga or FLCL, but that suits this wonderful series just fine. American Psycho: Terrific mix of black comedy, satire, and slasher flick with a stand-out performance from Christian Bale.

Requiem for a Dream: Easily one of the most depressing movies I’ve ever seen, I’ve still only seen it once.

Almost Famous: Cameron Crowe’s affable, warm, and memorable look at a rock band and the kid who idolized them.

Best in Show: Hilarious Chris Guest mockumentary about dog shows.

Memento: Chris Nolan’s cool, convoluted film noir with excellent twists and turns along the way.

Netflix is now available to you on the PS3. Welcome to last year Sony, but it’s better late than never. Okay, it wasn’t Sony’s fault that Microsoft likes to spend millions on exclusives, thus leaving Sony in the dust. Bruno is a spitball lobbed with deadly accuracy at homophobes, hypocrites, and pretty much anyone else in its comedic path. Raunchy and sure to shock, Bruno also comes with a message of tolerance a lot of people seemed to miss during its theatrical run. The movie is decidedly un-PC. Sascha Baron Cohen’s creation Bruno is a flamboyant, gay Austrian fashion reporter out to become a star. A Christmas Carol, a timeless Christmas tale, has been reimagined by Robert Zemeckis. Gone are the days of his good ol’ fashion 80s movies like Back to the Future. Now CG animated movies are all that Mr. Zemeckis wants to do (Polar Express, Beowulf).

Oh yes, Disney and Bruckheimer are back again from Pirates of the Caribbean to bring you Persians!

Having played Sands of Times, I’m really looking forward to this movie based on the game of the same name. I’m hoping this succeeds so that other video game movies can get a huge ass budget. But then I do love me some craptastic movies like Jean Claude’s Street Fighter, Super Mario Bros., and Double Dragon. So do you think the Prince of Persia can take on King Leonidas?…
