Vin Diesel and Paul Walker will be back for a fifth installment of The Fast And The Furious franchise.  The story will revolve around the 2 characters running away from the law.  Justin Lin, the director of the third and fourth movies will also be back.  I hope Tyrese and Lucas Black will also make an appearance, then we can see a combined drifting and 1/4 mile epic race.  I got my money on Black because the rest will crash once drifting, especially Diesel with his muscle car.

Nia Vardalos is a genuine success story. Her low-budget and charming movie “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” was a huge hit and launched her career into the stratosphere. Sadly, she’s had nothing but flops since. Trying to get by on that film by first milking it for an awful, short-lived spinoff series for television was her first big mistake. It doesn’t help anyone that the character she plays in I Hate Valentine’s Day named Genevieve is a borderline lunatic florist with relationship issues and a stupid rule that sets the idiotic plot into motion.

Avatar isn’t really a movie as much as it is an experience. 3D is the way to truly appreciate the gorgeous and eye-popping vistas and landscapes created by James Cameron. IMAX makes it pop even more with its huge, wrap-around screen and bone-shattering sound. Avatar has buried every movie in its wake and is doing a lot better than I ever thought it would. Who would have thought a 3-D movie about ten foot tall blue creatures would be the box office champ of all time?

10 Things I Hate About You is a fun and light-hearted teen comedy that helped launch the career of the late Heath Ledger. Ledger took what could have been a typical teen heartthrob role and imbued his part with charisma and warmth. He’s well matched with star Julia Stiles and a bunch of future talents, including Joseph Gordon Levitt. This teen update of Taming of The Shrew is a lot of fun, and while not great, it’s certainly worth a look.

Surrogates should have been an exciting, action-packed science fiction movie in the vain of The Fifth Element or I, Robot; but it’s nowhere near as good as those movies. It’s kind of bland, and oddly for a movie that cost around 80 million bucks to make, looks kind of cheap. The movie was a box office flop upon release and its easy to see why. It’s just not very good.
