Nicolas Cage with hair always makes me happy and brings me back to the good ol’ Con Air days. The Sorcerer’s Apprentice comes to theaters nationwide July 16^th, 2010.

Here’s another Michael Cera story about a socially awkward nerd with girl problems…except, this one actually looks kickass, since it’s directed by Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz). The story is about Scott Pilgrim trying to win the heart of a girl named Ramona Flowers by defeating her seven evil ex-boyfriends (including the new Captain America).

Now I definitely want to check Bryan Lee O’Malley’s comics out, especially since it has a lot of video game and comic references. Still iffy about Michael Cera, but the movie looks fun and crazy.…

For Reservoired Dog, watching Prince Of Persia two months early at Showest 2010 wasn’t enough.  He trekked the convention floors discovering the latest and greatest technology theater gadgets.  Along the way, he mingled with celebs such as The Rock, Jeniffer Lopez, Katherine Heigl and Neil Patrick Harris.  Check out the pics below of the showroom and the celebs (some pics are blurry because they were strict with flash).

This week I attended the ShoWest Convention in Las Vegas for the screening of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.  I admit I was a bit nervous at first, being that the movie was based on a video game I admired.

 
 
The film does a great job of capturing the look and feel of the video game series.  There are a lot of little homages to actual game play that I think will have many fans smiling in the movie theaters.   The script expands on the original story of the first game and adds new characters,  but it doesn’t …

Yeah, I know, Robert Rodriguez is only producing.  But this trailer makes me excited for a Predator movie again.  The  human characters look interesting enough that when they get killed off one by one, you’ll actually care.  Also, the Predators actually look like their counterparts from the 1st and 2nd movie, not the roided versions from AVP 1 and 2.

Just like humans, Predators also have dogs:

Check out these cool posters for Inglourious Basterds.  The posters were created by accomplished artists such as Jeremy Fish, Patrick Martinez and Grotesk and each one was signed by Quentin Tarantino.  The posters sold for $300 each and all the funds went to a charity for the Haiti earthquake.

Dead Like Me is a Dark Comedy about undead Grim Reapers “living” their lives and taking the souls of strangers before they die. Presented to them on “Post-It” notes, each reaper is given the name, place and time when they are to pluck their victims soul before they pass into the great beyond.

While not reaping, these grim characters live somewhat normal lives by either working or stealing for a place to live and to keep food on their plates. (The undead have to eat too!)
