The Gods are angry in this cheesy and campy update of an already cheesy and campy movie from 1981. This version of Clash has esteemed actors like Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes hamming it up as Gods but the movie has some pretty big flaws to overcome. The pacing and tone are off. Zoe Saldana has been on the nerds’ radar ever since she played the iconic Nyuta Uhura in last year’s Star Trek. She followed up that role by starring in the world’s biggest movie of all time, Avatar. I thought her acting in Avatar deserved an Oscar nomination. Her cat like mannerisms combined with her human emotions really brought the character to life. The newly blonde Nicolas Cage (Con Air, Ghost Rider) and the cast and crew of Sorcerer’s Apprentice was at WonderCon talking about the upcoming summer blockbuster. The live action movie is based on a musical sequence from the Walt Disney animation classic, Fantasia. Cage said he took the lead role because it’s a “movie that adults will enjoy as much as the kids.” Another reason was his love for Walt Disney, “I’m honored I work with the Disney studio. I like to call him Uncle Walt. It’s a dream come true working for a studio I looked up to.”
