Tugg.com is  a site where you can vote for movies to be shown at participating theaters in your town.  Enough votes came in for Battle Royal to be shown in Houston and now the film is being screened at the Alamo Drafthouse there on Feb. 16. Tickets cost $85! Why so much? Because each ticket comes with a signed limited 1/225 variant movie poster created by Scott Pilgrim‘s Brian Lee O’malley and someone named Kevin Tong, who’s a member of Alamo Drafthouse’s collectible art division. Byzantium is a drama about mother/daughter vampires set in a sort of dreary sea-side coastal town. The overcast skies and crying seagulls set up a nice eerie mood which hints that bad stuff is on the horizon. It’s made by the folks behind Interview with a Vampire so it should be pretty decent. It stars Saoirse Ronan (The Lovely Bones),  Gemma Arterton (The Prince of Persia) and Johnny Lee Miller (Hackers). No exact release date has been posted for the US yet but it’s opening in other countries from April through June.

Check out these new images of Kick-Ass 2. I can’t wait for this film to come out, since the first Kick-Ass is one of the best comic book films to date. And, the fact that Jim Carrey is in the sequel makes it much more exciting. The comic-book was hillarious, and depressing at the same time – Millar style. So, here’s hoping for Kick-Ass 2 to follow the feel of the first film, and Millar’s depressing style at the same time.

Tim Burton’s latest flick is a fun and heartwarming surprise.

Much better than his latest live action movies, Alice In Wonderland & Dark Shadows, the stop motion Frankenweenie has a lot of good things going for it.

Main character Victor Frankenstein is a genius outcast.  He doesn’t have any friends besides his dog, Sparky.  As Victor is playing with Sparky in a seemingly good day, the dog gets accidentally run over and killed.  Victor uses his smart to revive his best friend just like in Mary Shelley’s classic tale.  Neighborhood  bullies get in on the act and accidentally revive all of …

Django Unchained is overhyped.  It was good but nothing groundbreaking.  Part of it comes from a sensitive director named Spike Lee.  He complained that the movie didn’t need to have so many “n” words and it made African Americans look bad.  He said this before even watching the movie.  Then a small minority of the black community followed suit and started complaining the movie is racist.

They found out toy company, NECA, was making 9′ Django figures and complained.  NECA decided to stop producing the figures, which meant the small amount released to comic book and collectible shops are now worth …

I guess this would be more of the “ass-kicking” version of the Hansel and Gretel trailers. However, it comes off as corny, and laughable. The theme of the trailer does not seem to match the tone of the film.

Are they trying to market to teenagers, or adults? Maybe they’re confused and assume that they can do both!…

The end of the world is nigh! For J.J. Abrams the man who is famous for rebooting Star Trek is now doing Star Wars as well if what the report that came from The Wrap is to be believed, Abrams was a fan favorite pick ever since the film itself was announced but back in November he explicitly stated that he would NOT direct the next Star Wars film, fearing that it could cause major issues with his current partnership with Paramount.

The premise for “Monsuno” sounds really familiar:

Monsters are launched from a container by their masters as they duke it out.  Yes, it sounds like tv show in the 90’s that starts with “P” and ends with “N.”
