EA and FUNimation Entertainment, the leading distributor of anime in North America, have announced that BioWare’s Dragon Age (think Mass Effect meets Lord of the Rings) will be coming to home video release in 2011. Production will start in May 2010. The anime movie will have executive producers from both BioWare and FUNimation.

Transformers Female Lead Showdown: Megan Fox vs Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

Transformers Female Lead Showdown: Megan Fox vs Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

We found out 2 weeks ago that Megan Fox was dropped from Transformers 3.  This week, Michaelbay.com announced that Victoria’s Secret’s Rosie Huntington-Whiteley will replace Fox as the female lead role.  No one is certain yet whether Hungtington-Whitely will play Fox’s role or a new character all together.

Michael Bay directed a couple of Victoria Secrets’ ads and I’m assuming that’s how he found her.  Below is a video from Victoria Secret congratulating their model.  It looked like Bay directed the video as well, he must really despise Megan Fox:

This will be Huntington-Whiteley’s first acting gig so her performance …

DVD Review: Deadliest Warrior Season 1

deadliest season1 DVD Review: Deadliest Warrior Season 1

Remember in grade school when you’d have arguments with your friends about your favorite warrior?

Well, Spike took that idea and turned it into a tv show.  The show pits two warriors and based on scientific weapon testings , we see the victor.  I love this show but there’s some flawed logic to the show’s  scientific tests. The warriors strategy and tactics aren’t put into play and this is my biggest gripe.  For example, the Spartans were kickass because they worked as one cohesive unit but in the show,  the spartan is fighting by himself.  This gives his opponent, a ninja, …

Hulu Coming to the 360?

Hulu Coming to the 360?

Dashboard Xbox copy Hulu Coming to the 360?For some time, Hulu has hinted at possible subscription plans, but have never followed through. At least until now. There is speculation that Microsoft plans to unveil Hulu support for Xbox LIVE. That means the Xbox 360, not the iPad, will be the first to utilize the subscription-based pay version of the streaming TV/movie service. There has not been an actual confirmation from Microsoft or Hulu as of yet, but “a reliable source” for Gear Live has made the claim.

Now if these rumors are true, it will bring up a few questions. What prices are they looking to charge for …

Movie Review: Robin Hood

Movie Review: Robin Hood

robin hood poster Movie Review: Robin Hood

As a big Ridley Scott fan, I was a bit disappointed with the trailer of Robin Hood; it felt like a sequel to Kingdom of Heaven. At first, there was no urgency to see the movie. But, who was I kidding, I always see Ridley Scott’s films in the big screen. To my surprise, Robin Hood is a solid movie, with Ridley Scott’s signature stamped all over it, but it’s not without its flaws.

Firstly, I have a problem with Russell Crowe as Robin Hood. He is a great actor, and he carried the film pretty well. But, I …

HTC Droid Incredible Verizon Wireless HTC Pays George Lucas For DROID Copyrights

So there was something very interesting I noticed while watching the commercials for the new HTC DROID Incredible phone, Verizon’s new exclusive phone.  At the end of the commercial at the bottom of the screen in not so visible lettering it says “DROID is a trademark of Lucasfilm Ltd.”

So it turns  out that indeed George Lucas owns the rights to the word “Droid,”  the copyright was registered in 1977 before the release of STAR WARS: A New Hope.  So you’d think that since they’re already paying for the licensing they’d at least come out with a couple Star Wars …

Prince of Persia Movie Review Remix (CCFMDS): Prince of Persia

The history of video games turned Hollywood movies isn’t very good. There have been more bad ones than you could even count and an occasional decent one. I liked Mortal Kombat and the first two Resident Evil movies were dumb, mindless fun. Silent Hill was creepy and atmospheric thanks to French director Christophe Gans (Brotherhood of The Wolf). I also have a soft spot for the hated Double Dragon, which featured cool future-shock set design and Robert Patrick hamming it up as a dastardly baddie. I pretty much hated every other videogame movie ever made. I still feel bad about having …

DVD Review: Dear John

Dear John DVD Review: Dear John
Dear John is the latest movie from best-selling author Nicholas Sparks. The best adaptation of his sappy novels turned films is definitely The Notebook. The strong acting and atmosphere helped the movie glide past its rough patches and cheesy writing. Director Lasse Hallstrom has fashioned an entertaining and visually pleasing version of the book Dear John. Channing Tatum (looks great, limited acting wise) and Amanda Seyfried (almost as pretty as Tatum, often whiny in the movie) are well-matched as young lovers, but when they are apart (a necessary function of the story), the movie loses focus. Dear John benefits greatly from …
