Hans Zimmer, the man behind epic scores in movies such as The Last Samurai, The Rock and Gladiator, has released his latest work on iTunes: Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.  Zimmer composed the score for one of the biggest games of all time.  His involvement in the project really shows how far video games have gotten as Activision hired one of the most respected composers in Hollywood.  The entire soundtrack can be purchased for $9.99 or $.99 per track.  I suggest getting the whole soundtrack since there are 17 tracks total.

Although Transformers 2 made a lot of bank at the box office, Michael Bay is taking note of the negative comments about the film from fans and critics; things like the ghetto twins, ass shots of John Turturro, and robot humping come into mind. I’ll give him the benefit of a doubt that there might be hope for Transformers 3 because I loved the first one. Armageddon is a Michael Bay classic, that might not mean much to some people, but I grew up watching his movies. Sitting on my shelf, I have the original release of Armageddon DVD signed by the man himself. But the DVD itself became useless when HDTVs came out because it’s non-anamorphic. When I heard that Armageddon was coming to Blu-ray, all I can say is “It’s about time!”

In less than a day, the Mortal Kombat: Rebirth video short has reached over a million on YouTube. Director Kevin Tancharoen chats with Collider about the short.

My favorite Batman story of all time, Year One, will be coming soon to video as an animated movie.  Written by Frank Miller, the story shows the struggle of Bruce Wayne as he becomes Batman for the first time.  The story also has a subplot of Jim Gordon as he tries to fit in with the Gotham City Police department.  According to comics continuum, the movie will be directed by Sam Liu.  Liu directed animated straight to video flicks before including Justice League Crisis on Two Earths, Superman/Batman Public Enemies and Hulk Vs.

Alan Wake was an amazing game that many may have not expected to come from the makers of  Max Payne.  The game had an amazing blend of great gameplay and riveting storytelling.  The creators also made a online live action short series called Bright Falls, that preludes the events of the game Alan Wake.  The series, which is six episodes long, introduces us to Jake Fischer, a newspaper reporter who, while visiting the town on business, encounters a series of mysterious and haunting experiences in the town of Bright Falls.
