Dark Knight Rises Sizzle Reel

The movie wasn’t perfect.  There was plenty of WTF moments but I can’t deny the epic scope of this movie.…

AVENGERS3DComboArt Blu ray Review: Avengers 3D

Avengers was a critical and box office success that I found to be overrated.  Don’t get me the wrong, the movie was entertaining but it would’ve been better if there was internal conflict amongst the superheroes.  What worked well was the ape like Hulk smashing everything in its path and the sense of humor from Captain America and Thor.  In this epic tale, emo villain, Loki, tries to take over Earth.  The superheroes consisting of Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Captain America and Hawkeye are recruited by military leader Nick Fury to stop the assault by Loki and his cronies.  I didn’t …

Originally released in 2003 as a sixty minute 3D documentary, “Ghosts Of The Abyss” is finding its way to the blu-ray format.  The movie is extended to 90 minutes in the 2D version, while 3D remains at 60 minutes.  Directed by James Cameron (Titanic), he goes back to the ship 12,000 feet below sea level with actor Bill Paxton.  Using 2 small subs and several Russian crew, they document what Titanic looks like present day.  Using innovative cameras, the movie shows hard to get through places including small rooms and quarters.  As the subs are traveling through the huge ship, it …

The Dark Knight Rises the dark knight rises 30989937 1600 1200 No The Dark Knight Rises Directors Cut

A sad day for us guys (AKA me) that wanted too see an even longer version of TDKR, Nolan has confirmed that there will NOT be such a version of the film either this December or right before Man of Steel.

While this is isn’t a shock for some, it leaves in question as to what is going to happen with the Bane origin that was reportedly cut out of the film, will it be a deleted scene? Doubtful too since Nolan isn’t big on deleted scenes either, so we may never see Bane’s true origin….…

Jysmfl Blu ray Review: LOTR The Return of the King Extended 5 disc Set

The culmination of the Lord of the Rings trilogy ends with exquisite audio and visual glory in this Blu-ray edition of the film.  The Return of the King deservedly won 11 Academy awards for Best Picture, Director, Editing, Art Direction, Costume Design, Visual Effects, Makeup, Adapted Screenplay, Sound Mixing, Original Song and Original Score.

The extended version of this story is no less pleasing than the original, as the extra scenes enhance one’s understanding of the story and help create an unforgettable movie experience. The Return of the King is truly Peter Jackson’s finest hour.  An amazing story is told and …

The new Terminator Blu-ray box set comes with five discs including all four Terminator films as well as an extra bonus features disc. All five discs come in a sort of book which folds out to the left and right. This package slides into a sleeve with a cutout “T” that lets the 3D Termintor’s face poke through.

I ended up watching the films backwards for some reason, from most recent to oldest. But really, the story makes so many time jumps anyway, it kinda works.

Disc Breakdown:

1. The Terminator – The first installment of the Terminator films looks decent. …

Blu ray Review: LOTR The Two Towers Extended Edition 5 Disc Set

The Two Towers is the second installment in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, now available as an extended Blu-ray 5 disc set. This sequel to the Fellowship of the Ring kicks up the action a notch as Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli are fighting the Uruk-hai (who are like orcs on steroids) alongside kingships and defending castle keeps. Frodo and Sam, having gone off on their own at the end of Fellowship, find themselves at the mercy of the black sheep Faramir, brother of the fallen Boromir, who thinks he must bring the ring back to restore his father’s faith …
