In the Illusionist, Edward Norton stars as the great magician, Eisenheim in the turn of the 20th century, Vienna.  Eisenheim is a man of few words and we learn it’s because he misses his childhood love, Sophie (Jessica Biehl).  The crafty magician is invited by the snarling alcoholic, Prince Leopold (Rufus Sewell) to perform at his party.  While he’s performing tricks, Eisenheim finds out that Sophie will be married to the prince.  But not for love, but to gain more political power!!  So Eisenheim does what everybody would do in his situation, try to get the girl back by using magic.  …

Tombstone Blu ray Blu ray Review: Tombstone

One of my favorite Westerns of all time, Tombstone is about the story of Wyatt Earp, his brothers, and Doc Holliday, one of the most iconic character of the Western world. Wyatt and his brothers decided to move to a small town named Tombstone so they can start their own business and get filthy rich. Time goes by and the brothers are doing well, but the town is in a bad shape. A group of lawless thugs who calls themselves The Cowboys are causing problems. Wyatt Earp tried to stay away from them, but sooner or later, they cross …

Armageddon Blu Ray Blu ray Review: Armageddon

Armageddon is a Michael Bay classic, that might not mean much to some people, but I grew up watching his movies. Sitting on my shelf, I have the original release of Armageddon DVD signed by the man himself. But the DVD itself became useless when HDTVs came out because it’s non-anamorphic. When I heard that Armageddon was coming to Blu-ray, all I can say is “It’s about time!”

armageddon 20 Blu ray Review: Armageddon

Armageddon is like the movie 2012, but a lot better. Sure the lines are cheesy, but that’s how it should be, especially when the story sucks. But you don’t watch these kinds of …

Alice in Wonderland Reaches $1 Billion Box Office Worldwide

Tim Burtons Alice in Wonderland White Queen and Red Queen small Alice in Wonderland Reaches $1 Billion Box Office Worldwide

It was announced today that Alice in Wonderland has become the member of the $1 billion club. I guess you can say the movie made some profit, with a budget of just a measly $200 million. Even though I didn’t enjoy the movie, I help contribute to the movie’s success. Ok, go ahead and laugh at me since Alice in Wonderland is officially the third highest grossing Disney movie of all time, second only to Dead Man’s Chest and Finding Nemo.

And now the movie’s going to make even more bank with the release of the movie on Blu-ray and DVD …

Movie Review: Legion

Movie Review: Legion

Legion Movie Review: Legion

Legion is about a struggle for the fate of no less than the end of the world, but mostly it’s a boring slog from beginning to end. There’s a few quick, unsettling scenes (stuff you’ve already seen in the promising promos and trailers for the flick), but mostly there’s just poorly written babble about God hating humans, a mythical baby, and the end of the world. It’s almost bad enough to make you flee to a Sunday morning church service. Poorly acted and lit with what had to be flashlights, the low-budget Legion doesn’t possess many thrills or chills and will …

Early DVD Review: Ninja Assassin

Early DVD Review: Ninja Assassin

Ninja Assassin Early DVD Review: Ninja Assassin

Hollywood has had an exceedingly hard time making a good ninja movie. Most of them wind up in the bin collecting dust at your local Target or Walmart. Ninja Assassin is a legitimate attempt to make a ninja movie for a mass audience with a decent budget and a fair amount of craft and skill. It delivers exactly what is promised by a movie titled Ninja Assassin, no more and no less. The amount of gore in the movie often feels unnecessary and once you see the 100th guy chopped into pieces, the gore loses most of its impact.

Ninja Assassin …

10 Things I Hate About You Blu Ray Review: 10 Things I Hate About You (10th Anniversary Edition)

10 Things I Hate About You is a fun and light-hearted teen comedy that helped launch the career of the late Heath Ledger. Ledger took what could have been a typical teen heartthrob role and imbued his part with charisma and warmth. He’s well matched with star Julia Stiles and a bunch of future talents, including Joseph Gordon Levitt. This teen update of Taming of The Shrew is a lot of fun, and while not great, it’s certainly worth a look.

10 Things I Hate About You is about a new kid in school named Cameron (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) who has a …

District 9 bluray Video: Exclusive Blu Ray District 9 Package Review

I found this awesome video about a collector’s edition of District 9 on Blu Ray from Sweden.  Discjunkie is the person reviewing the Blu Ray package and it takes him about 10 minutes to go through the entire package.

What I love about this review is that he’s totally dedicated about his hobby, something that we can  all relate to.  Check it out!…

Best: District 9

District 9 was a nerd’s wet dream.  For a budget of $30 million, director  Neill Blomkamp created a sci fi movie that had awesome special effects that rivaled big budget movies. Unlike most sci fi movies where it focuses more on special effects,  Blomkamp focused on a compelling story of the struggle between humans and aliens.  The best part of the movie was the last 20 minutes.  It was epic because the action scenes reminded you of your favorite FPS video …

Black Friday: DEAL EXCEL SPREADSHEET!

Black Friday: DEAL EXCEL SPREADSHEET!

Thanksgiving means only two things: eating till your back hurts and shopping till your wallet hurts!

The day after Thanksgiving is notorious for ridiculous deals every year.  BLACK FRIDAY, the day in which millions of shoppers line up for hours, tent out of shopping malls, and wait in anticipation for those outrageous deals normally available at a certain time frame and with limited quantities.

The normal routine would include a delicious Thanksgiving dinner followed by pumpkin pie. Crawl into bed for a quick nap, then off to the store to meet up with others who are at the same place …
