We stopped by John De La O’s school to check out the fighters getting ready for this Sunday’s Long Beach Fight Night. Scott “The Saw” Brommage and Henry Corrales were already training as we got there. During the one hour intense session, the fighters worked on their cardio as well as their stand up.
Corrales dropped out from the event due to an injury in training but we wish him a speedy recovery! We want to thank De La O for giving us an opportunity for the photoshoot and good luck to Scott on his upcoming fight!

Frankie Edgar (Champion) vs. Gray Maynard – Although both are great wrestlers, I think that this fight will be mostly stand-up. Their wrestling base will keep each other from going to the ground. In the stand-up, Frankie Edgar is faster and more efficient with his in-and-out movements. Maynard will need to take this fight to the ground to win. Edgar is too good of a wrestler, and with a slightly better hands, which leaves Maynard with nothing to win the fight. Edgar will hold on to his belt.

One of the most popular MMA fighters to ever step in the Octagon has called it quits. Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell, retired today. UFC President Dana White made the announcement at a press conference. White said Liddell will still work with the UFC as the VP of Business Development. I don’t know what that means but I’m assuming he’ll be a cosultant. Liddell was a light heavyweight champ for 2 years beating opponents like Randy Couture, Babalu and Tito Ortiz. The Iceman has been knocked in his past 3 fights but he’ll be remembered as a KO artist.

WEC held its last event last Thursday and will soon be merged with UFC. For its 53’rd event, WEC’s main event was Ben Henderson vs. Anthony Pettis. The fight had everything an MMA fan can hope for: submission attempts, stand up war, reversals and one move that’ll be shown in every highlight reel from now on. If you haven’t seen the fight, you should stop reading this article. You’re only cheating yourself by reading the outcome beforehand. This article won’t do the fight justice, it was that GOOD.
I’ve always been a fan of WEC, I like that the majority of …
These cheesy moments usually happen at basketball and baseball games but over the weekend, it happened at a UFC event. The man uses UFC heavyweight Cain Velasquez as a diversion before finishing up his real question:
Congrats to both of them. This is probably a first for an MMA event!…

You know UFC is getting big when ESPN features GSP in their commercial.
I like the tail technique. Gottal love GSP’s accent, especially the way he mentions the names of the mascots.
GSP is scheduled to fight Josh Koscheck this Saturday in Canada.…
Georges St. Pierre (GSP) vs. Josh Koscheck – I have to admit that I fell for the reality show hype as these two coaches blabbered at each other for a season of the Ultimate Fighter. Actually, it was only Koscheck that did the blabbering, while the current champ just sat there and took the beating. There is a good chance that this fight will turn into a borefest as GSP will be content at controlling Koscheck for 5 rounds. But, I have a feeling that Koscheck will go for broke and try to knock GSP ‘s head early in the fight. …
