Never Back Down defines the guilty pleasure movie. It’s not particularly original or well-acted, but it’s a lot of fun, as long as you don’t take it too seriously.  It tries to preach anti-violence but the story is really just an excuse for a lot of mixed martial arts mayhem set to hipster alt-rock music.  Never Back Down mixes older (and better) films into a blender and hits the mix button.  Every note of the film is predictable (training montage, geeky Emo kid being used as bait), but the film is enjoyable anyway.  Never Back Down looks good, its well-shot and …

I was hoping I would get cheap tickets for the event since it seemed no one knew about the event. Get them cheap from the scalpers. My brother and I drive down to Honda Center. Meet up with a couple of our friends. Cheapest tickets we could get were $60 and it was in the bleachers. I could have gotten it at that price at the box office two weeks before the event. UFC has their biggest event of the year come Saturday. We finally have a good title match and a couple of interesting matches on the undercard. For me, yesterday was Affliction day. Affliction is holding their first MMA event at the Honda Center on July 19th. Yesterday was the first day it sold tickets to the public. The main event willl have my favorite fighter, Pride FC champ, Fedor Emelianenko face former UFC champ, Tim Sylvia.

After a great card on free tv, UFC arrives for the first time in Canada for the next PPV event. The tickets sold out in minutes as their hometown hero, St. Pierre tries to reclaim his belt against the somewhat cocky/over confident Matt Serra. Without further ado, below are my predictions:
