Video Game: UFC Undisputed Demo Review

I downloaded the demo, not expecting much from it since the other UFC games sucked balls. But, to my surprise, this one is different. This game is very responsive, which is very important in all fighting games. The combinations are easy to throw, from punches to the kicks. However, the grappling aspect of the game is a little bit stiff, but one can get used to it with enough playing time.

The 2 characters that came with the demo are Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Chuck Liddell. Both fighters have their distinct strengths and weaknesses. Liddell’s strength is obviously his punches, while …

April 18th @ 7pm (PT)

These are the televised fights.

Anderson Silva vs. Thales Leites – The main event, this should be an interesting match-up. Silva has wiped out almost everybody in his division, so they give him Leites. Leites is a talented fighter but not up to par with Anderson Silva. UFC should have given him more fights under his belt before feeding him to one of the most dominant fighter in UFC history. Leites will put up a  good fight but will get KOd by Silva.

Saturday, April 11, 2009 – 7:00PM (PST) on Showtime.

It’s the post-Kimbo days, and Elite XC has gone bankrupt. Many of XC’s fighters were bought out by Strikefore, which is why we  have an upcoming card to look forward to.

Frank Shamrock vs. Nick Diaz – Both are former UFC fighters, but are now set to face each other in Strikeforce. This will be Frank’s first fight after being defeated by Cung Le. Shamrock is a smart fighter, and should be able to take advantage of Diaz’s weaknesses. Diaz is a versatile fighter, and always willing to throw down with anyone. …

Interview with OC Fighter: Thomas Kenney

I first met Thomas Kenney when my friend, Jorge, invited to their MMA school back in 2003.  I’ve always been into martial arts so I checked it out.  This wasn’t your average martial arts gym,  the session was on a Thursday morning and they were going all out with their drills and grappling.  Kenney was the head instructor for the day, he quickly introduced himself, and asked me if I wanted to train with them.  I happily agreed and grappled with his students. I learned a lot of new techniques that day. Kenney is a great teacher, who is passionate about …

Here comes another Ultimate Fight Night from the UFC. They always have events before the season premiere of the Ultimate Fighter show. The card looks good, and is free on Spike TV:  7pm Central Time / 8pm Eastern and Pacific

Carlos Condit vs. Martin Kampmann:

This should be an exciting match-up. Condit, the former WEC star will be welcomed into the UFC by the experienced, kampmann. Kampmann has won his last 4 out of 5 fights. He is a good striker, but his ground game is questionable. Condit’s stand-up should be good enough to defend the strikes before he takes Kampmann …

Charles Lewis aka “Mask” died from a car accident last night.  The report seems to indicate that Lewis was racing in his Ferrari against a Porsche.  The Porsche driver lost control of the vehicle and hit Lewis Ferrari.  Lewis lost control of the car, went over a curb and then hit a lightpole.  Investigations are still going on.

Lewis was the co-founder of Tapout, a popular MMA clothing line.  While most hardcore fans hated his off the wall antics, I always liked the guy.  Lewis was a true MMA fan and supporter.  Tapout sponsored lesser known fighters as well as most …
