Octagon book 5 UFC Book: Octagon

UFC 116 is over, but if you still have the UFC itch, here’s a book that every MMA fans should get.

All I can say is…..Wow! This book is amazing. I was first introduced to this book while visiting the Xtreme Couture Gym in Las Vegas. They had the ultimate collector’s edition laying towards the back of their store. The book was huge, 20.5 x 26 inches in size. Immediately, the photos and the layout of the pages caught my attention. The giant book that Randy Couture has is a limited edition, worth over $1,000. You don’t have that kind of …

sotor 5 Questions With UFCs George Sotiropoulos

George Sotiropoulos is one of the best MMA fighters to execute the rubber guard.  He showed his excellent ground game against his last opponent, the very tough veteran, Joe “Big Daddy” Stevenson.  Throughout the fight, Stevenson couldn’t mount an offense on the ground.  Sotiropoulos won the fight and got the Fight of the Night award.  Come this Saturday, Sotiropoulos will fight Kurt “Batman” Pellegrino at UFC 116.  I wish I had more time to talk to George but I didn’t want to bother him too  much as he prepares for his upcoming fight.

ea mma01 EA MMA: E3 Impression

While the UFC is the king of MMA at this moment, STRIKEFORCE and other MMA organizations like DREAMS joins EA to compete with UFC’s Undisputed video game. So far, EA MMA looks promising. The graphics look good, but not realistic. The punches and kicks are utilized through the analog stick, unlike UFC’s Undisputed. The takedowns are utilized using the buttons system. The movement is fluid, maybe too fluid for my taste. Sometimes, it feels that the characters are floating around.

7 P (PT)

Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin (HW Title Fight) – This will be an exciting match-up between the two HWs. Lesnar’s strongest suit next to his wrestling, is his strenght. He will need to take this fight to the ground asap, otherwise, Carwin will knock him out. Carwin is almost as big as Lesnar, but if taken to the ground, Lesnar will dominate Carwin with his wrestling control. The real question here is whether Carwin can match Lesnar’s strenght once on the ground, will Carwin be able to defend those huge fists slamming into his face. If Carwin can …
