So…I was on the subscription for 10 months and then switched from my credit card to my bank card and it didn’t go through when they went to get the payment. I called their number in India and they couldn’t help me, so I am now off of the subscription–and they say you can’t cancel, its too easy to cancel, oh well!

Over the weekend, nerds and zombies gathered for the 4th Long Beach Comic Con.  I love this con because you can talk to your favorite artists without waiting in long ass lines like San Diego’s Comic Con.  The artists alley had well known names such as David Finch, Darwyn Cooke and Dustin Nguyen.  The prices were more than reasonable for sketches from these great artists.  Finch was giving big discounts left and right, especially to his hardcore fans.

Comics were also at a bargain and were sold as low as $1 for famous Batman issues.  I enjoyed the show and …

One figure for the month of October, pretty weak because they moved all the good stuff to the last 2 months of the year.

Here we have from the New Adventures of He-Man, Flipshot…::sigh:: Icarius… Thanks to “another” company–NERF– having the copyright to the name Flipshot, Mattel had to rename their character Icarius–Spelled different. Everyone and their uncle knows who Icarius is so I wont go into it.  Icarius is however the European name for the Flipshot character, so in the end, the rename is ok.

The Tim Burton Exhibit at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) has been on display for about 4 months now and I finally had the chance to see it over the weekend.  I was excited to hear that the original exhibit from New York MOMA was going to make an appearance in So Cal.  For some reason I kept pushing it off, until a friend finally invited on Sunday.  The tickets are $20 per person but it’s worth every penny and then some.  The exhibit will run until October 31, 2011 so you still have time to check it …

Originally I wasn’t very excited about the September figures from Mattycollector.com. Hurricane Hordak and Leech huh? Well, I guess I’m still not excited, but I’m kind of impressed with the design.

Hurricane Hordak seems to be a re-hash of regular Hordak with gold armor which is pretty cool. I have a rough spot in mine but I really don’t care. The armor is hopefully vacuum plated (it appears to be) so it stays nice regardless of the fact that I probably wont open it. Good news:  You can now own the Nike Air Mag from Back To The Future 2.

Bad news:  They’re limited to 1500 and being auctioned off eBay. They’re at least going for at least $5,500 each. 

Good news: All of the money from the auction will go to the Michael J. Fox Foundation which helps find the cure for parkinson’s disease.

Bad news:  I’ll never get one and will settle for my current $25 converse.

This is the definitive version of the first Black Rock Shooter video game. Playable on any PSP world wide and in the Japanese language, BRS: The Game came in a large and beautiful box with great head-shot images of Black Rock Shooter and White Rock Shooter. This set comes complete with the PSP game which once again is playable in all PSP systems, however it is entirely in Japanese so it’s feel it out as you go along–unless you know Japanese.

It took 8 months but I finally have a subscription order that made me really happy! In the past I’ve been moderately satisfied with a shipment, but this is different!

Man-E-faces is a figure that I have always liked when I was a kid and he is a big deal now–maybe even bigger. Monster High, a doll collection from Mattel that has spawned such popularity that the novel roots of Lisi Harrison cannot hold it anymore. The Monster High line has become expanded into articles of clothing, carry bags, knick-knacks, doo-dads and specials on Nickelodeon, including very short videos on the Mattel website.

I have a very small collection of Monster High and I plan to keep it that way–I’m still fighting the urge to collect lunch boxes! I spent years as a Goth and came out with liking specific bands and having the enjoyment of remembering the good old days. As for old …
