BOANINJA Rant of the Week: Bank of America Consumers, WATCH OUT!

Bank of America has charged me with sneaky hidden fees, specifically, overdraft charges. If you hold a bank account with Bank of America or ANY of its new affiliates, HERE’S SOME INFO YOU MUST READ!

I got shafted and shafted good by B of A recently. I’ve been with B of A for a couple years now and things were ok until recently. Long story short, I had X amount of funds within B of A. With purchases I made, I was in the overdraft pending stage. Having dealt with this sorta thing before, I quickly placed enough money, so I …

S.P.E.A.R. – Mobile Command Center To Save More Lives
Concept art

Imagine having a natural disaster in your community, like an earthquake or hurricane. You want to get aid from the government as soon as possible so they can give you shelter, food and help out the community. Currently, it can take several days to get relief from the government because it takes time setting up a command center. In terms of disasters, time = lives. The sooner the government can help, the more people will be saved. How would you like it if the prep time for a command center is cut down to minutes and operation in extreme …

Rant of the Week: Guys Can’t Go for Outta-Their-League Ladies?

peter parker and gwen stacy Rant of the Week: Guys Can’t Go for Outta Their League Ladies?

MSN posted this article by Linda Carroll up on their main page.  It’s about why guys go for girls that are out of their league.  I thought the article was going to be cool, about how the average guy can get the hot girl.  Boy was I wrong.  They interview these so-called experts on the study of why guys think they can get the girl, and they conclude that guys are delusional and that they should aim for girls closer to their attractiveness…….I call BULLSHIT!!!!!! Just read some of these quotes from the “experts.”

“Men might as well reach for the

Custom Mighty Muggs Flash Interview Part 2 of 2
Alright folks!  We’re back with the great customizer and co-founder of hockeycustoms.com, Chris.  In last week’s interview, Chris shared his love for action figures.  He also discussed what got him into customized figures.  This week, we discuss his first custom Mighty Muggs, Flash!

NS: What made you decide to customize a Mighty Muggs figure?
C: I don’t really know. I had a couple of hockey customs on the go for a couple of different customers and then my PC crashed, so i was without all my graphics and order lists for about 3 weeks. I was starting to get a …

I’m a technical person, so my creativity isn’t much.  Creativity is a talent that some people have and I definitely appreciate it.  I can analyze what looks good/bad but tell me to create a logo and I wouldn’t know where to start.  So why am I talking about creativity?  Because I’ve always appreciated what customizers do.  Customizers are fans who create/alter action figures based on what they want.  Mostly, they create figures that have not been released by toy companies.  These artists paint the figures, make head sculpts and …

Rant of the Week: American Horror Films On The Decline

Rant of the Week: American Horror Films On The Decline

517PRtZ2u1L. SS500 Rant of the Week: American Horror Films On The Decline

In the mid 1990’s horror was king for quite a while.  Thanks mainly to Scream (and to a lesser extent its two sequels), slasher films were back in vogue.  Kevin Williamson’s sharply funny and ground-breaking script for the original Scream film combined with Wes Craven’s stylish direction made slasher films cool again.  Williamson himself scripted the above-average I Know What You Did Last Summer, which became a sleeper hit due to some clever marketing and a popular young cast of Gen X favorites.  There were other decent slasher films during that cycle (Urban Legend comes to mind) but after that horror …

Calling all cosplayers!

Has this ever happened to you? You’re getting ready to go to con.  You probably have an outfit ready, stored safely somewhere, let’s say in a little storage room in the backyard.  It’s pretty dark in there too, with spider webs all over the area.  Luckily, you wrapped your outfit inside a protective trash bag.  You take out your flashlight, and while reaching for your outfit, you drop the flashlight upon seeing the monstrosity you’ve just witnessed.

The outfit was a complete mess.

Rant Of The Week – Kimbo Slice

Rant Of The Week – Kimbo Slice

kimbo slice Rant Of The Week Kimbo Slice
Kimbo Slice is all HYPE! He has knockout power and that’s about it. In his last fight, he almost lost to a crappy fighter named James Thompson. Thank goodness the ref was told by the promoter to help Kimbo at all costs. Thompson was punching Kimbo for about 45 seconds on the ground. Kimbo was taking the hits and unintelligently defending himself. But the ref let the fight continue and Kimbo got “saved by the bell”. Even Kimbo’s trainer, the legendary Bas Rutten, told the press it should have been stopped.

Look, I don’t hate Kimbo. It seems like he’s a …

Star Wars: Is the End Near?

Star Wars: Is the End Near?

lucasportman wideweb 430x306 Star Wars: Is the End Near?

Star Wars: Clone Wars is being released in theatres today.  Checking in on the latest reviews for the new Star Wars CG movie just puts a damper on this nerd’s face.

I’m going to watch it regardless, but just seeing George Lucas’ trend on movies lately, like the latest Indiana Jones movie and the Star Wars prequels, has made me lose “a new hope” on future Lucas film projects.…

My Fav 5: The 5 Best (and 5 worst) Films of the Year So Far

These are the best and the worst films I’ve seen in 2008 (so far):

My Fav 5:

1.  The Dark Knight- Dark, dazzlingly complex and one of the best (along with Batman Begins and Spidey 2) comic book films ever made.  As soon as Heath Ledger’s darkly funny and utterly amazing Joker pops up on screen, you can’t take your eyes off him.  The whole cast is amazing and this is the rare film that will stay with you long after you’ve forgotten the latest popcorn flick you saw to escape a blazing hot day.

2.  Wanted- A new high watermark …
