Last week, we interviewed Susan Hancock, the owner of maid cafe: Royal/T.  In this second part of the interview, we talk to one of the lovely maids, Kat.

Nerdsociety(NS):  How did you find this job?
Kat(K):  I’m a cos-player and I read about a maid cafe opening up in America on the internet.  I was so happy when I found out that Royal-T was near my apartment and I scheduled a job interview immediately!

When I was about 12, I’d buy toys that I thought were “rare” or “collector’s item”.  Sometimes, I’d spend my hard earned allowance on crappy figures that toy magazines were hyping as hard to find.  Most of the figures were terrible but I still bought them.  Maybe that’s why they were rare to begin with: no one wanted them in the first place.  Whatever the reason, I followed the magazines blindly.  Instead of buying toys because I liked the character or because I thought it looked cool, I was buying it for its “value”.   I was becoming a sheep.

I heard of Royal/T through Pacific Media Expo. Royal/T was promoted as a cafe with maids dressed in anime outfits. I thought it’d just have maids serving us teas and snacks. My friends and I decided to drive to Culver City and check out the place.…

 

I’m not a huge fan of the NFL, but when the Super Bowl comes around, bring me the food and drinks and let’s celebrate! This year, EA SPORTS and Madden NFL 09 predicted that the Steelers’ win. They had the two teams, controlled by AI, compete with the latest updated roster, and now knowing this, I shouldn’t have put money on the Cardinals. Their prediction score as of now is 6 to 1.…

The main event: Fedor vs. Arlovski

Affliction: Day of Reckoning, was a pretty exciting event. Mongoose and I bought nosebleed seats for $50 a pop.  We arrive at the Honda Center at around 4:00 pm. John Spartan called us and told us that he’s also coming down, we told him to buy the $50 ticket and we’d meet up inside.  Going in, I was excited and nervous because I knew  that Andrei Arlovski had a good chance of knocking out Fedor.…

Whoa!  Awweesssooommme!  I love shooting stuff!  It makes me feel good inside, like when I eat warmed-up Reese’s Butter Cups!

Why is it that the only non-shooter games I’m interested in on the 360 are Fable 2 and Devil May Cry 4?  …

Affliction will have their second show this coming Saturday at the Honda Center in Anaheim. You’ve never heard of it? I’m not surprised because to put it nicely, their marketing sucks. It’s almost non-existent. Many of their fighters are UFC rejects, but they have fighters that can sell tickets if they market them the right way, fighters like Fedor Emelianenko. He is ranked by many experts as the the #1 HW in the world. Nobody knows who he is because Affliction is not marketing him properly. Last I heard, Affliction sold less than 2,000 tickets 2 weeks ago.
