A fan-made video about the films of Pixar.
Very well done, except for the switching of the aspect ratios, and the use of the Kick-Ass / 28 Weeks Later soundtrack. I love the music, but too overwhelming for the montage.…

I didn’t really know what Zoetrope was until I saw this video.
It’s pretty amazing stuff. I saw this at California Adventures. The little characters just comes to life in front of you.…
Even though Tron: Legacy was number three at the box office for its second weekend, it is said to have only grossed an estimated $ 20+ million over Christmas domestically for a total of $88 million, according to Deadline Hollywood, solidifying fears that Disney will have a hard time recouping the $150 million production budget and the $120 million marketing budget without an overseas boom. This they say is due in part to the mixed reviews the movie is getting by critics who obviously refuse to see the movie for what it is: a highly visual thrill-ride.
Because this film …
For release in 2011, the stamps will include screen grabs from Cars, Toy Story, Up, Wall-E, and my least favorite, Ratatouille.
These are great for collectors of Disney or Pixar merchandising. All the movies picked were either nominated or have won Oscars. I’m surprised that they didn’t include Woody for Toy Story though.…
In another case of “why’d it take so long to do that,” the Dutch company who owns the “Miffy” rights has won a copyright infringement lawsuit against Sanrio for a bunny character that looks a little too much like theirs. Dick Bruna, the guy who created Miffy like 45 years ago, has openly accused Hello Kitty of copying his style for, well, probably since Hello Kitty came out in 1974. Bruna’s Miffy hasn’t always looked like this, however; he changed her design to the current one in the 60’s.
So okay, that’s 10 years ahead of Hello Kitty. One can only …
Disneynature does it again with the hypnotic and visually stunning new nature documentary called Oceans. Last Earth Day, Disney released Earth, which was terrific, but was mostly footage from Planet Earth edited down to feature-length. Disneynature got Oceans from France and director Jacques Perrin. Perin made the justly beloved documentary Winged Migration and Oceans is a spectacular sight to behold.
Oceans is narrated in mostly unobtrusive fashion by Pierce Brosnan and takes the viewers on a fascinating journey under the sea to see all kinds of bizarre creatures along with some favorites (sharks, seals, cute baby sea turtles). The movie has …
Disney has released a preview for the new Star Tours ride coming out in 2011. The preview has the same cheesy theme from the old Star Tours “ad” that you see as you’re waiting to get on the ride. I don’t mind that, can’t forget your roots. Here’s the trailer:
So in the trailer, you see the Cloud City, Endor and Alderaan. I doubt you’ll be visiting all of it because Alderaan gets blown up by the Death Star in New Hope. There’s also rumors that it will include a pod-race from Episode 1.
The new Stars Tours will be in …

Here’s a short, but informational video about the art behind Tangled.
I like the art direction of this film. They are trying to replicate Disneyland, and incorporate some of the designs into the film. I’m not a big CG fan, as I prefer 2D animation, but I might actually see this!
IMDB synopsis:
“The long-haired Princess Rapunzel has spent her entire life in a tower, but when she falls in love with a bandit who was passing by she must venture into the outside world for the first time to find him.”…
Yes, as in Disney’s Haunted Mansion. Guillermo Del Toro announced this at Comic-con today after the Tron panel. My fellow nerds, don’t fret because his version of the film will NOT have anything to do with Eddie Murphy’s ‘The Haunted Mansion’. HRT reports that Del Toro’s Mansion experience will be filmed in 3D. How long can this 3D hype last, or is it here for good? Anyhow, I’m glad that GDT finally found a project he can start on. As most know, he was stuck working on ‘The Hobbit’ with Peter Jackson, but GDT felt that the wait …
