Long Beach Comic Con (LBCC) has been around for a couple of years and this is one of my favorite cons. It’s not too big and crowded like SDCC and they have awesome vendors. I usually get my collectibles for cheap over here. It’s on Saturday, 4/23/2011, from 10 am – 6 pm. Hope to see you guys there!

Stu Levy, the guy who founded Tokyopop, the American manga distributor who introduced titles like Cardcaptor Sakura, is hosting a reality series called America’s Greatest Otaku. Long Beach Comic Con 2010 has come and gone but for the past couple of years, it’s one of the conventions I’ve always looked forward to. I like the fact that it’s not overly crowded. I can personally talk to the comic talents instead of wasting your time in a long line for hours. For this year, J Scott Campbell (Danger Girl) was back for the second straight year and as always, he doesn’t mind mingling with his fans. Photographer Ejen Chuang was back on the road again over the weekend for New York Comic Con/ Anime Fest. The promoters for the events combined both for bigger turnout but based on the video below, the attendees weren’t too pleased with the integration. Anime Vegas was a small, but fun event held at the Alexis Park Hotel in Las Vegas. The cosplayers came in full force, and there were plenty of high-quality costumes for the cameras.
