James Marsters Wizard World Philadelphia: Q and A with James Marsters (Angel, Smallville, Torchwood)

James Marsters put on an entertaining and fun question and answer session at Wizard World in Philadelphia. Me and Paladin attended the Q and A and had a blast. Marsters was full of energy and answered questions thoughtfully and humorously. He seems like a great guy who truly appreciates his many fans. Marsters shot to fame as the bad boy vampire Spike, on the hit television series Buffy: The Vampire Slayer. Then he appeared on Smallville as the evil super computer known as Brianiac. His human form was that of Marsters and he had a lot of fun starting out first …

Wizard World Philly: The Memories…

Wizard World Philly: The Memories…

Paladin here, CCFMDS and I went on a new journey by attending the Wizard World Comic convention in Philadelphia PA as Press.

Apparently we have both agreed that the press pass is a free ticket, not a key that gives all access. However, we did get to enjoy some good old fashioned “stepping in” to enjoy the panels of actors–no obnoxiously long lines for us!

Armed with the tools of the trade, including a small bag to hold my note pad, business cards, pens and 2 movies that I had the intent to get signed by a very special actor; I …

Wizard World 2 Wizard World Convention Philadelphia, Saturday 6/12/2010: Timeline and Analysis

Wizard World Philadelphia is a massive comic convention with celebs (“celebs” and real ones mixed in) as diverse as Patrick Stewart and teabagger/right-winger Stephen Baldwin. The guest list also included Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead, Brisco County, Burn Notice), James Marsters (Buffy, Smallville, Torchwood), Linda Hamilton (Terminator), Ernie Hudson, and Adam West. Many more pseudo-celebs were also there and most seemed nice and energetic, with a few exceptions. Here’s a timeline of my day and first time going to a convention as “press” for our most excellent site, NERDociety.com:

8am: I get up, skip breakfast and hop on the El downtown with …

I first met Ejen Chuang at Anime Expo ’08.  He had his own photo booth by the entrance of the convention center.  I was amazed that with all the professional photography equipments he had, he was doing everything by himself, no assistants at all.  That meant that when he had to take a restroom break, he asked one of the attendees to watch his stuff. Talk about trusting a stranger!  Chuang is a Texas native and learned his photography skills by working with seasoned photographers.

It has almost been two years since I met Chuang and he still sets up booths …

Recently Anime Expo announced to their many loyal attendees that they will be charging extra for the previously free shuttle pass. Luckily for us, everyone decided to leave the AX Block Hotels and move to closer, and overall, cheaper hotels. With the crazy amount of backlash from the AX Community, Anime Expo decided to one-up their own last years policy by providing free shuttle passes to all 4 day attendees. Complimentary. At no extra cost. I guess the AX Community can say they won the battle but not the war.

For more information, shuttle routes, and complete pricing for the …

Tomonobu Itagaki, the mastermind behind the Dead or Alive fighting games, the sexy Dead or Alive Beach Volleyball series and the rebirth of the Ninja Gaiden series in 3D (no, not that kind of 3D).

Since Itagaki’s departure with Tecmo, he has been anything but quiet on his thoughts of the gaming world, and has announced that he will be showing off a new game at E3 with his new company.

I wonder what type of game he has been working on? What do you think?…

Also appearing is Bruce Campbell of Evil Dead fame, he has also been on many fantasy TV shows from the Hercules and Xena days where he played the character Autolycus. He also starred in Jack of All Trades and Brisco County Jr.

A comical actor whose voice …
