Just before I go on my rant I want to let you guys know that I love Batman. I’ve watched the movies, the animated series, read the comics and own the graphic novels. Some of you guys have seen my action figure collection and most of the majority are Batman. I have figures from Kotobukiya to Mattel’s DC Superheroes line. And I loved Batman Begins, the best comic book movie of all time.

Wanted is a hardcore, ultra-violent action blowout.  It’s loud, gory, and amoral.  I loved every minute of it.  Wanted is really made just for fanboys and men who like their action films like they like their women (fast, loud, and holding two guns that can shoot bullets that curve and bend time).  It’s hard to defend a film so in love with violence and bullets, so I won’t even try.  I do plan to marry the woman who loves this film, and I’m sure she’s out there somewhere.  Wanted is about an office drone who becomes an assassin.  The cast members …

Well, today was a total blast.  The Nerd Society crew went to Comic-Con and wreaked havoc…until we were glomped by little kids.  It’s late night right now and I am tired as hell.  Over the course of the week we’ll be uploading pics and video interviews and our escapades from San Diego Comic-Con.

Dark Knight broke box office records over the weekend by taking in $158 million. The movie also broke record for a single day take, taking in $67.9 million on Friday. The previous records were held by Spider Man 3, taking in $151 million for the weekend and $58 million for a single day.

I watched Dark Knight again earlier tonight and I still have mixed feelings about it: Joker is one smart crazy villain and the story is pretty solid. What still bothered me most about the movie is the damn sonar Batman used. Still a solid movie. I’d give it …

Lets get this out of the way first, The Dark Knight more than lives up to the hype.  It’s beautifully filmed, extremely well-acted and edited, and its a thrilling experience from start to finish.  It has shades of great crime dramas like Heat and Goodfellas, but it’s still a superhero film, so comparing it to others in the same genre seems more apt to me.  It makes Iron Man (which was a fine, entertaining film) look like a bowel movement.  It’s amazing what a talented director, a great screenplay, and invested A-list actors can do for essentially a film about a …

Wow, I just wet myself after watching that.  Let’s hope this movie is kickass because I have enjoyed all of Zack Snyder’s movies so far from Dawn to 300.  If I ever see him, I’m gonna lay one on him, oh yeah!…

I’ve never seen so many people in line for a movie. The theatre I went to had at least 6 showings and the line circled around the block. This movie is going to be a hit whether word of mouth will be good or bad. But then again everyone predicted it to be the summer box office champ. I just didn’t expect so many people to show up for a midnight showing.

I thought the movie had great moments while some parts were absurd. It could have been 15 minutes shorter and made for a better movie. Most of the action …
