From The DC Universe Comes…

A bitch’in toy review!

From the “Crisis” series I present two 3 packs of 3-4 inch–G.I. Joe-sized heroes. Pack 3 offers Wonder Girl, Superman and Supergirl. Each figure has different points of articulation including joints at the knees and elbows, the heads turn and the shoulders rotate 360 degrees. The details are pretty good between the paint and molds. The package has a raised hand on the inside making the box itself an interesting collectible. The back of the box has the stats of the three characters with a little information on their powers and even their alternate names.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World Trailer with Homages to Video Games and Comics

Scott Pilgrim vs the World 01 Scott Pilgrim vs. The World Trailer with Homages to Video Games and Comics

Here’s another Michael Cera story about a socially awkward nerd with girl problems…except, this one actually looks kickass, since it’s directed by Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz). The story is about Scott Pilgrim trying to win the heart of a girl named Ramona Flowers by defeating her seven evil ex-boyfriends (including the new Captain America).

Now I definitely want to check Bryan Lee O’Malley’s comics out, especially since it has a lot of video game and comic references. Still iffy about Michael Cera, but the movie looks fun and crazy.…

Glorious Inglourious Basterds Posters

Glorious Inglourious Basterds Posters

Check out these cool posters for Inglourious Basterds.  The posters were created by accomplished artists such as Jeremy Fish, Patrick Martinez and Grotesk and each one was signed by Quentin Tarantino.  The posters sold for $300 each and all the funds went to a charity for the Haiti earthquake.

Below are my favorite posters, you can check out the other posters at Upperplayground.com and read more about the event.

Comic-Con: The Pros and Cons of Moving to Anaheim

Comic-Con: The Pros and Cons of Moving to Anaheim

Comic Con: The Pros and Cons of Moving to Anaheim

In recent news, the Anaheim Convention Center was trying to entice Comic-Con International into relocating their hugely popular event from the San Diego Convention Center. If this deal does go through, that would mean that Anaheim would now be hosting the event starting 2013. Comic-Con International has been in San Diego for 40 years. It’s like a getaway that’s still close to home for southern Californians. Here I have compiled a list of pros and cons for Comic-Con moving to Anaheim.

Pros

  • Anaheim Convention Center has an exhibit space of 813,000 square feet, compared to San Diego’s 615701. That’s around 25%

Iron Man Portable Suit New Iron Man Trailer Shows Off Portable Suit

Here’s the feature trailer for Iron Man 2. Looks like Iron Man has something to worry about with Mickey Rourke since it seems like he is getting funding for his own Iron Man project with the aid of Sam Rockwell. So Don Cheadle’s Jim Rhodes insists that Tony Stark needs help fighting these “Iron Man” clones by having his own suit, calling himself War Machine. I still wonder what Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow can do against guys in armored suits?

Oh man that portable Iron Man suit looks awesome.…

Gene Simmons’s Son Caught Red Handed!

Nick simmons header Gene Simmonss Son Caught Red Handed!Nick Simmons, son of the Legendary Rocker, has found himself in whirl wind of controversy.   In recent weeks Radical Comics, publisher for Nick’s comic Incarnate, has pulled his series off the shelve and halted all production due to accusations of plagiarism.  Months prior, dedicated fans of the anime Bleach begin a campaign against the comic.  Sending angry letters and emails to the book’s publisher.  Fans over the internet compiled evidence to support their accusations, and I must say the evidence speaks for it’s self.

rachel nichols gi joe Sultry Rachel Nichols Joins Conan Movie Remake

Rachel Nichols, the sexy green skin cadet  from Star Trek and Scarlett from G.I.: Joe, has been cast as the main female lead for the Conan remake.  I loved Nichols in G.I.: Joe and she could probably pull off another tough but sensual character.  According to Latinoreview.com, the role is described as:

Tamara is 18 to 24 years old, Caucasian or Middle Eastern, open to all ethnicities; beautiful, studious, correct, a novitiate of a Greek influenced monastery. A master of martial arts, she has been trained to be the Queen’s servant, bodyguard and best friend. She and many other
