Violent Stabbing At Comic Con

Violent Stabbing At Comic Con

I always thought Comic Con attendees would get violent over limited edition exclusives before any other scheduled events but I was wrong.  USA Today reported that two guys in their mid twenties got into a fight in Hall H as Unversal was presenting Jon Favreau’s(director of Iron Man movies) Cowboy & Aliens.  As the two guy were fighting, one got stabbed in the eye with a pen.  The victim was taken to a hospital while the stabber got restrained and arrested by the cops.   I don’t know the details of the incident but I’m predicting they probably got into a fight …

Boba Fett In Force Unleashed Sequel

Boba Fett In Force Unleashed Sequel

boba fett 21 Boba Fett In Force Unleashed Sequel

Despite Boba Fett having less than 10 minutes of screen time in the Star Wars movies, everyone’s favorite bounty hunter will make an appearance in the Force Unleashed sequel.  Haden Blackman, the writer for both the original and sequel said:

“We give him what I think is a satisfying character arc. He starts in one place emotionally and physically, and ends up in a different place.”

Blackman said they’re just not adding him just for the sake of making the game cooler.  He said Fett will have a “small but pivotal role.”

Here’s the video (with a 30 second commercial first, …

Stallone Blames Batman!

Stallone Blames Batman!

stallone Stallone Blames Batman!

Sylvester Stallone was interviewed by L.A. Times and asked how the one man army movies from the 80’s fizzled.  His response:

“”It was the first ‘Batman’ movie, the action movies changed radically when it became possible to Velcro your muscles on.  I wish I had thought of Velcro muscles myself… I didn’t have to go to the gym for all those years.”

I’m glad Stallone makes light of the situation and he’s not bitter.  Although Stallone is known for starring in macho movies, he’s actually a talented filmmaker directing most of the Rocky movies (didn’t direct the first or the crap …

Batman 3 News/Rumor: Is Joseph Gordon-Levitt The Riddler in Batman 3 ?

JGL 1 Batman 3 News/Rumor: Is Joseph Gordon Levitt The Riddler in Batman 3 ?

Joseph Gordon-Levitt (JGL to his hipster fans like myself) is in talks to play The Riddler in the next Batman movie……or was he already cast ? It’s hard to seperate fact from fiction, but a lot of major websites are discussing this potential casting. As JGL’s biggest fan, I’d love to see him tackle a villain role in a big budget flick. He has done a lot of indie flicks and has now broken into the mainstream with his supporting role in Chris Nolan’s massive hit Inception.
If you just know him as the kid from 3rd Rock From the Sun …

Concept Art: Captain America / Thor

Concept Art: Captain America / Thor

For those who can’t wait till SDCC, Marvel/Paramount Studios released some hi-res concept art of Captain America and Thor.

The art-piece below just became my new wallpaper. The contrast and texture is amazing, I also like the artist’s semi-realistic approach to the costume and the pouches. The painterly feel, along with the realistic story-backdrop is a good start for the promotion of the film. Let’s just hope that the filmmakers can capture the same feel as Ryan Meinerding did in his art.

The concept art for Thor isn’t as appealing to me. Although, the art-style is the same, it …

To coincide with Comic Con, Radical Publishing has just announced that Sam Raimi will be producing and directing the comic book adaptation of Earp: Saints For Sinners.  Not familiar with Earp?  The story is an alternative take on the legendary lawman, Wyatt Earp.  While the real Wyatt Earp lived in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, the comic book is set in present time where the economy has collapsed and the the politicians are corrupt.  Most of the story takes place in Las Vegas.

16Batman Arkham Asylum 15 Titles For Arkham Asylum Sequel

According to superannuation.com, Warner Brothers have registered 15 domains relating to the Batman: Arkham Asylum sequel.  While no official title has been announced, here are the  domains listed in the order which will make the best title for Batman: Arkham Asylum sequel:

15. CloseArkhamCity.com
More than anything this domain will be used for viral marketing.  WB is famous for viral campaigns for such blockbusters as the Dark Knight and Inception.  Maybe they’ll use a similar campaign for the sequel.

14. ArkhamCity.com
This won’t be the title for sure because Batman’s city is Gotham.  In the comics, only the Asylum was …

Now That’s a Joker Statue

Now That’s a Joker Statue

There’s been numerous statues for the Clown Prince Of Crime but I think this is the best one yet.  It’s based on artwork by Lee Bermejo.  Joker really looks menacing and he has a swagger that makes him fearful instead of campy.  He even has his trademark .357 magnum:

joker Now Thats a Joker Statue

It’s from the DC Direct Batman: Black and White line, which originally started with Batman statues. The line became so popular that they’re running out of Batman statues to do, so DC decided to make villains including Catwoman, a Jim Lee version of the Joker and Penguin.

The statue will come out …
