In 1991, Hasbro jumped on board the anti-drug movement with a line of figures from G.I. Joe called the Drug Elimination Force or D.E.F. Headman is the evil leader of the Headhunters a non-Cobra organization that has overrun “Every Town USA” with killer substances.

In the cartoon, Headman was portrayed as an absolute nut who was pretty clean looking compared to the namesake action figure.

This line of toys had begun the most detailed look at the action figure inside the bubble. The file card describes details down to the characters outfit and what accessories they may have.

Ever since Phantom Menace came out, midnight screenings has been a common practice at big multiplexes for high profile movies. Last one I went to was for The Dark Knight and there were at least 1000 people in line, yes I know, I’m lagging on my midnight screenings. Dark Knight was shown in 7 sold out theatres. I enjoy midnight screenings because of the energy from the fans and you have some people dressed up as their favorite characters.

Everytime I watch an MMA event, I always compare fighters to video game characters.  “Look, that guy looks like Roufus” as Roy “Big Country” Nelson flattens out his opponent with his stomach.  While some fighters have the persona to be in a video game, other fighters look exactly like characters from fighting games.  Strunger from Sherdog, decided to make renditions of MMA fighters with  characters from Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat and below are the results:

Most of us have gone to boring, uneventful weddings but a couple from British decided to change all of that.  Instead of wearing tuxedos and overpriced dresses, they decided to have a Superhero wedding!  The couple dressed up as Batman and Wonder Woman and they didn’t even let each other know what costume there were going to wear.  The guests dressed up as any superheroes they’d like.

Superman might only appear in comics and movies but he saved a real family from losing their house.  A family from the south was struggling with mortgage payments and they were cleaning out their house preparing to be evicted when they found a box of comics.  One of the comics turned out to be Action Comics #1!  The family contacted Metropolis Comics, who has done rare comic auctions before.  At first, Metropolis dismissed it since so many people submit comics that aren’t original or first pressing.  The family sent a picture to confirm that it was the real deal.  Vincent …

MucaMeow here to share my adventure at Comic-Con this year (A bit late). We knew it would be tough to fit everything in one day, but we were determined. We woke up early Thursday and made our way to the San Diego convention center.

We were accompanied by many attendees from the shuttle to the convention center’s main entrance. The first thing to do was scope out the exhibit hall. The exhibit hall was roomier, but we didn’t have a lot of time to look around – we had panels to attend.

Upper Deck, the collectible card company known for sponsoring Michael Jordan, Ken Griffey Jr. and Wayne Gretzky is in a legal battle with Konami over Yu-Gi-Oh cards.  Upper Deck is in a lot of hurt with their sports cards so they decided to venture out and team up with Konami.  According to Hockeybuzz.com, Konami and Upper Deck teamed up since 2002 and made $17 million dollars in one quarter alone.
