Kotaku has reported that comic living legend, Jim Lee will be on PSN tonight to promote DC Universe Online.  He will go toe to toe against the IGN staff and use Future Joker as his character.  The lucky fans who were fortunate enough to be invited to the beta can join the battle. 

There’ll be major “battles” on the PC as well, including classic matchups such as Batman vs. Joker and Superman vs. Lex Luthor.  Below is the schedule:

Like Spider-man, Batman is also working on his own live show. The creators want to build huge sets inside arenas to accommodate the grand action sequences that Batman requires. Let’s hope that the Batman show doesn’t run into the same bad luck as the Spider-man show. The Spider-Man show was plagued with injuries, re-writes, and cast members quitting.

This idea has been bouncing around for close to a year now. First it was thought that Renner might play Captain America in the Avengers movie. Then he says no but he might be playing Hawkeye instead. We know now that Chris Evans is Captain America in the movie of the same name, and according to IMDB, Renner is definitely playing Hawkeye in The Avengers, along with Scar Jo as Black Widow, the aforementioned Evans, Robert Downey Jr. as Stark/Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Samuel L. Featurette:

I would give this show a chance. Sure, the story is nothing original. The hero gets framed for a crime he didn’t commit. Kick-Ass anyone? But, I like the back-story of our hero being trained by carnies, it makes sense. Almost like how Batman was trained by Ninjas.

On a second thought, the Carnie thing isn’t original either, Robin came from a family of Carnies. So, this show offers nothing original but still looks entertaining, so I’ll watch it.…

Concept artist, Carlos D’Anda just released the artwork for the Batman game, Arkham Asylum.  He posted the awesome images on Deviant Art.  I always like the concept art more than the final product.  For me, there’s no limit with the sketches.  The artist can just portray the subject as he sees it.  Then it moves to other area of development where sometimes the concept isn’t captured anymore.  I think overall, Rocksteady succesfully translated D’Anda’s style of exaggerated and dynamic art.

The sequel to the game, Arkham City, comes out next year.

The Spider-Man musical seemed like a bad idea from the get go.  First of all, kids love Spider-Man.  Broadway audiences don’t really care for the web slinger, they’d rather watch Wicked.  The target demographics just seemed off.  Then sites got a hold of the costume pics and majority made fun of it.  But as they say in Broadway, the show must go on.   Yesterday, they had a preview and seven minutes before the show ended, the actor playing Spider-Man fell several feet and got injured.  Medic had to be brought in and the show was immediately stopped.

Before Bryan singer directed Superman Returns, Tim Burton was involved in a project called Superman Lives.  He wanted Nicolas Cage to play Clark Kent.  Kevin Smith was hired as the writer for one revised script.  He was eventually let go after he didn’t agree with the producer’s demand for a giant spider as the main villain.  Warner Brothers spend $50-$60 million just with the concept alone.  Burton was guaranteed to get paid whether the movie was made or not.

If Spider-Man’s death announcement wasn’t enough, I’ve just learned that Zorro will also die next year.  Now, do I really care about Zorro?  Not really because I never watched the old show.  I do care about Lone Ranger though because the show was awesome.  It should be interesting how this comic will work.  I just hope that Zorro doesn’t come back alive at the end of the story.  Well, if he comes back as a zmobie, that’d be great.  Then it’d be like Red Dead Redemption: Undead.  Below is the press release from comic book publisher, Dynamite Entertainment:
