Last weekend was a Superhero convention down at the Anaheim Convention Center. It was called Wizard World Anaheim Comic Con to be exact. I got to see a bunch of cool Superhero art, and the artists behind them. Also, comic books were everywhere, as well as toys, funky hats, and cool robots. Dedicated cosplayers also came out to show their support for their favorite Superheroes. An event like this is best captured in photos, so Enjoy!

The Ultimate Summer Movie Preview (Hold the 1,000 calorie popcorn!)

The Ultimate Summer Movie Preview (Hold the 1,000 calorie popcorn!)

Thor The Ultimate Summer Movie Preview (Hold the 1,000 calorie popcorn!)

Well, it’s that time once again. Time to beat the heat and escape to the multiplex for homoerotic superhero movies about Nordic Gods, overpriced popcorn, and crowded theatres with too many trailers and too little parking. Here’s my calendar of movie picks. Lets hope for a decent summer movie season, I’ll see you all at the movies:

May 6th:

Thor- Summer starts really early (this weekend in fact) with the release of the sure to be homoerotic movie of the Marvel Comics God Thor.

May 13th:

Bridesmaids- Hopes to prove that all chick flicks don’t have to suck. This could be …

Comic Review: Action Comics #900

Comic Review: Action Comics #900

Action Comics 900 Comic Review: Action Comics #900
I’m not a big fan of Superman because he’s too damn powerful.  But I decided to check out the milestone that is Action Comics #900.  That’s a lot of issues!  The story deals with Superman fighting a god like Lex Luthor.  Instead of bashing each other’s brain outs, Luthor tries to make Superman feel pain.  This backfires because he finds out that Superman does really care about humans.  Luthor also finds out that Clark Kent is Superman which makes him more livid.  Then I realized that Luthor isn’t so smart after all.  After all these years he still doesn’t know Superman’s …

Purgatory Issue1 Tokyopop Facebook Contest for Free Stuff

The manga distributor announced that it will be shutting down its North American publishing headquarters and will be holding what they are calling a garage sale to unload some manga, posters and other items from their warehouse.  Fans and friends of their Facebook page will get an opportunity to win a bag of stuff – all they need to do is submit video, costume pics, fan art, anything apparently that can be uploaded to the page before May 1.  Besides the shwag, winners will also get a pass to their private garage sale in Los Angeles on May 4.  Not a …

Comic Review – EARP: Saint For Sinners #3

Comic Review – EARP: Saint For Sinners #3

EarpSaintsForSinners3 Comic Review EARP: Saint For Sinners #3

The third to the last book, Saint For Sinners #3 lacked content compared to the previous issues. In issue 3, Earp still refuses to start a fight with the Pinkertons, but his brother feels differenty. Wyatt’s brother decided to join Jessie James’ crew to send a message to the Pinks.

As usual, the cover art looks beautiful but the story is somewhat lacking. It’s not to say that nothing significant happens here, and that this is a great setup for the next issue. But, a lot of the pages felt slightly empty, with some of the dialogues feeling a bit short. …

You can check out the full schedule and purchase tickets here.

Greats deals at the end of vid:…

Death Of Spider-Man Polybag & New Costume

spiderman death 199x300 Death Of Spider Man Polybag & New Costume

On June 22nd, 2011, Peter Parker will die in the ongoing comic, Ultimate Spider-Man.  Marvel has revealed that the comic is in its own universe and that he won’t die in the other monthly Spider-Man comics.  I guess he’ll be still be wearing his crappy futuristic outfit as he fights bad guys along with the Fantastic Four.

Marvel has also revealed the polybags for the death of Spidey.  Pretty much the same cover with different colors.  DC made these polybags popular with the death of Superman back in the days.  So you think after Spidey dies in issue #160 that it’ll …

Comic Review: Ryder on the Storm #3

Comic Review: Ryder on the Storm #3

ryder3 Comic Review: Ryder on the Storm #3

Ryder is a private investigator investigating a murder that leads him to a race of Daemons. He fights them, but soon realizes that he is one of them. Issue #3 takes us deeper into the world of the Daemons, including his mother. This mother angle sounds too much like Blade.

The story becomes very generic. They took away the mysterious world that was created in the first issue, and simply wrote in a very familiar story that I’ve seen so many times. It’s not unlike films such as Underworld and as I mentioned above, Blade. But, it’s not to say that …

Walking Dead Stirs Controversy

Here’s a billboard in the UK for Walking Dead.  At first I thought it was the tagline that caused controversy.  But if you look closely, its next to an Apple store looking funeral home.
