This looks like a cool premise as IDW’s major titles will have tie-ins starting in January for the second Infestation story.  The tie-ins include G.I. Joe, Dungeons & Dragons, Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I’m also glad that Chuck Dixon is still writing comics, he was the writer behind Batman’s Knightfall.

I thought I’d never say this but I’m more excited about Avengers than Dark Knight Rises.

The 99 is a superhero comic created by Kuwaiti psychologist Naif Al-Mutawa which extols the 99 attributes of Allah.  Last year Obama praised the comic for attempting to open a dialogue between American and Muslim cultures: “His comic books have captured the imagination of so many young people with superheroes who embody the teachings and tolerance of Islam,” Obama said.  Critics, however, are bashing the comic as an attempt to infect our youth with the Muslim religion.

Only eight months following the release of DC Universe Online, Sony Online Entertainment has announced that the MMO will be free to play starting in October.  This latest move is not, according to SOE President John Smedley, happening because of low subscriber numbers.  The game apparently cost Sony a lot more than they thought it would and they were planning on going free to play from the beginning. 

While PS3 and PC players can download the game for free, there are levels which cost money to play and there will be microtransactions where you can download gamepacks, powers, character slots, etc. …

The re-launch of DC Comics with 52 titles going back to issue #1.  I was against this because it just makes the company look lazy and lack creativity.  The characters are already established and they should build from it instead of creating a new backstory.  My friend gave me a copy of Detective Comics #1 and while it was an easy read, I don’t see why this was rebooted back.  The writer (who’s also the artist) already assumes that you know who Batman is and other characters like Comissioner Gordon and Joker.

Too short and a little pointless.

The First Season was a disappointment. I really enjoyed the first episode but was disappointed with the finale.

Here’s hoping for a good Season 2. Glen Mazzara is now in charge after Frank Darabont left. Mazzara was involved with one of the best TV shows ever, The Shield. So, maybe Season 2 will be better.

All I can say is SWEET!  Now that’s how Superman should be.  I like that he actually looks buff and the colors are a bit on the dark side.
