It just kicked off a couple of hours ago with a marathon where they will be showing seasons 1 and 2 with a bunch of sneak peaks of season 3 thrown in for good measure. The Joker Returns in Scott Snyder’s BATMAN

This October, the greatest and most notorious villain in comic books is making his grand return in the New 52! The new storyline is called “Death of the Family.”  The official description states that Joker will come out of the dark in a horrifying, unnerving, and huge way. And the grave consequences of his re-emergence will be felt by not only the Bat-family, but by all of Gotham City.

The Joker has made a name for himself in comic books not only for being one of the greatest characters of the whole medium, but also for his terrible acts against Batman.  …

Hit-Girl: The Little Bitch is Back comic by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. centers around little Mindy McCready as she tries to assimilate into civilian life without Big Daddy. We get to see life through her eyes as she heads back to school assuming her alter-ego as a productive member of society. Of course, even the most bad assed little superhero is not without her problems, namely getting harassed by mean girls at school. Mindy has no interest in civilian life other than some obligation she feels to mesh with this alien world that her father did not prepare her …

Book Review: Saga by Image Comics

Book Review: Saga by Image Comics

Saga is the latest effort by writer Brian K. Vaughn (Lost, Ex-Machina) and artist Fiona Staples (T.H.U.N.D.E.R Agents).  According to the Image Comics website, it’s a “sci-fi/fantasy epic for mature readers” where “Star Wars style action collides with Game of Thrones-esque drama.”  From the first few pages, I couldn’t put this book down. Honestly, I can’t get enough of Saga and I’m obviously not alone in this. Chapter four just came out last Wednesday and chapter one is already into its fourth printing. This is easily one of the best comics out right now.…

DC PICK OF THE WEEK!

WONDER WOMAN #10

2415077 prv12711 cov super Weekly Comic Picks & Dud

Azzarello gives us another fantastic issue and a very interesting look into the messed up family from Olympus.

THE GOOD

What makes this DC issue the best this week is the insight into the personalities of the Gods and their relationships. In other mediums like TV shows, video games and movies, the gods have always been shown as beings beyond our comprehension.  But this story really brings them down to our level while still showing off their awesome powers.

Wonder Woman in this issue was very clever and her conversation at the last …

BATMAN 10#

Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo continue to deliver one of the best comic books out there.  With the Night of the Owls cross over complete, Batman begins his assault on the Court itself.

THE GOOD

WARNING: SPOILER AHEAD

Snyder continues to both impress and shock me at the same time. What really stood out in this issue is just how Snyder has a voice for every character and they all serve a  purpose in the story. He takes everything that’s been said and done over this nearly year long run of his into account and incorporates …
