I love a good science fiction. Although the genre isn’t as represented in popular media as it should be, sci-fi buffs like me still get fed bits and pieces here and there. Thankfully, the nerd gods have granted the world Planteoid to keep us going for now. Written and illustrated by Ken Garing, Planetoid is one of the latest comics put out by Image, the company behind such titles as The Walking Dead and Spawn.
Ken Garing is an illustrator out of San Francisco who obviously has an amazing talent for rendering and telling an intriguing tale. Planetoid not …

Good news Walking Dead fans! Universal Studios Hollywood & Orlando will have Walking Dead mazes for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights. This won’t be similar to Comic Con’s maze where it was more of an obstacle course. There won’t be heavy running on Universal’s mazes but it might be more terrifying because the zombies will have awesome make up and props. The maze will re-enact famous scenes from the tv show.
For more information about Halloween Horror Nights, check out their site.
In other Walking Dead news, Image will have 2nd printing of #100. The first print of 383k sold …
Thomas Jane presented this at Comic-Con. They can use Hans Zimmer score from the Dark Knight because it’s fan made. There’s a cool cameo from a cult actor.
Overall, it’s entertaining but nothing we haven’t seen before. Definitely overhyped.…
After this years Avengers, Marvel Studios showed us at this years Comic Con some test footage of the long in development Ant-Man movie as well as some Iron Man 3 footage. Sadly I have neither of those for you, but what I do have are some tittle cards and release dates for the next big movies of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, enjoy.
20th century Fox has announced that actress Jessica Biel will be taking the role of Viper (aka Madame Hydra) in the upcoming Wolverine film, set for a 2013 release. Viper is an interesting character who has wavered between good and evil over the years allying herself at one point with the likes of Red Skull then eventually double-crossing him.
She was born in the 1920’s and entered into a pact with the elder god Chthon to slow her aging process. She would later go up against the ninja clan The Hand and help rescue Wolverine from Sabertooth. Viper eventually organizes a …
Some cosplayers just dress up for conventions, festivals or Halloween. Lily isn’t your average cosplayer. Her everyday look is out of another era. She’s also not just into cosplaying. Lily is a burlesque dancer who has performed the vagina monolgues. (Although not at the same time). Nerd Society caught up with Lily and she was nice enough to answer a few questions.
NS – How long have you been cosplaying?
Lily – I’ve always liked wearing costumes and putting my own twists on things. I never really considered myself a true cosplayer. But as far as comic characters, I’d say I’ve …
It’s days away before fellow nerds gather in San Diego for Comic-Con. The event has gotten so big that geeks hang out with their own clique, whether it’s Star Wars, Star Trek, Batman or just the hardcore comic book lovers. One thing is for certain though, all of us will look down at the Twilight fans lining up a couple of days just to see a glimpse of Edward and Jacob. Come on, what are these guys thinking? If it was for a classic franchise like Resident Evil, I’d understand!
Movie panels seems to be the main draw at Comic-Con nowadays …
