NYCC – Arrow Trailer

NYCC – Arrow Trailer

Arrow, as in Green Arrow. And yes, it looks pretty damn good. I was a big Smallville fan but the show became too colorful and campy for me (the last episode was cool though). But, I’m glad that WB has decided to take Arrow the other way. The story feels darker and maybe even more serious. Another TV show on my list, on top of the hundreds that are already waiting for me!…

Comic Review: Spider-Men #1-5

SpiderMen 1 Cover Comic Review: Spider Men #1 5

The first ever cross over between 616 and Ultimate Marvel was something truly to be excited for, with the creative team of Brian Michael Bendis, the man who has given us over a decade of great Spider-Man stories and Sara Pichelli, one of the best artists working at Marvel, we get one of the better Spider-Man stories in recent memory.

The plot itself is very simple, Ultimate Mysterio travels to 616 so he can kill Peter Parker, his plan backfires as 616 Peter is sent into the Ultimate universe and there as I stated before, encounters the new Peter Parker Miles

daredevilendofdays 1 cover Comic Review: Daredevil End of Days #1

As soon as I heard that Bill Seinkiewicz (Elektra: Assassin, 30 Days of Night) was doing the art on this, I knew it was going to be great. End of Days is a series Marvel is putting out about the “Man Without Fear” and if this first installment is any indication, it’s going to be one of the best books Marvel has released in a while.

The story is being told from the point of view of reporter Ben Urich. The internet has basically decimated the newspaper he works for and he is assigned what seems to be one …

Las Vegas Comic Expo Report

Las Vegas Comic Expo Report

IMG 2286 Las Vegas Comic Expo Report

Las Vegas Comic Expo was a small show compared to SDCC and WonderCon but they made up for it with heavy hitters from the comic industry.  I live in Southern Cali so it was a 4 hour drive for me.  It was worth the trip as I got sketches from Tim Bradstreet (Punisher), Mark Brooks (X-Men), Philip Tan (Spawn), Jay Savage, Norm Rapmund (Flash), Simon Bisley (Batman). Got all of it in less than 2 hours.  The sketches weren’t for me but for a local So Cal kid, Kai, he’s battling bone marrow failure.  It said in a newspaper article …

Batman Gets Arrested…. Again!

Batman Gets Arrested…. Again!

 Batman Gets Arrested.... Again!

In May of 2011, Mark Williams was arrested in full Batman gear while climbing up the side of a building carrying a number of Batman-esque tools and weapons. Over this past weekend, Williams was up to his old tricks as Michigan police arrested him again for obstructing a police investigation.

According to reports, Williams showed up at the scene of an automobile accident in his Batman costume. The police were trying to investigate a hit and run and had a k-9 at the scene trying to pick up a scent.  When asked about the caped obstructor, State Police Sgt. Jeff Gorno …

With the release of the Promise Part 3, its time for me to give you guys my thoughts the first in what I hope is a long line of Dark Horse Avatar related comic books.

Now the first thing I should mention is that I am a huge fan of the Avatar series and I was overjoyed to see that these books would pretty much act as more seasons to the TV show, while I would have liked monthly ongoing series, the format of releasing it in 3 giant sized issues every 4 months certainly made fans like me hungry for …

Harley Quinn: A Retrospective

Harley Quinn: A Retrospective

Harley Quinn 1 Harley Quinn: A Retrospective

One of the most sought after of all the DC comic book characters is one who was actually created in 1992 by artists Paul Dini and Bruce Timm for the Batman: Animated Series cartoon, and whose popularity led to her later becoming a part of the comics. I am speaking of course about none other than Joker’s girlfriend, side-kick and soulmate: Harley Quinn.

In the cartoon, Harley was originally Joker’s psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum, Dr. Harleen Quinzel. She falls in love with Joker and one night loses her mind, deciding to transform herself and break him out of the asylum. Here …
