I have to apologize for not reviewing this series sooner. I almost feel as if it was a selfish move on my part, keeping a gem like this all to myself. Of course, that’s not entirely true, either, because this book has gotten extremely popular since it first came out over the summer, having already gone into multiple printings with rumors swirling of a TV adaptation. So if you haven’t picked up a Revival comic book yet, I guess this article is really for you.

To say this is just your average zombie story would be selling Revival short. Writer Tim …

Superhero Phoenix Jones Street Fight

Superhero Phoenix Jones Street Fight

Here’s a video of real life Superhero fighting an obnoxious drunk guy in front of cops. It’s pretty amazing how easy it is for a trained MMA fighter to beat down random jerks in the streets. Pay attention to the leg kicks. Phoenix Jones is an MMA fighter with a record of 4-0.

Ohhhh yeaaaah!!! (Macho Man voice)

Long Beach Comic Con was once again booming with attendees, artists and vendors.

lbcc fall 19 Long Beach Comic Con 2012 Experience

I spent most of my time at the artists alley and got autographs from living legend Wolverine creator, Len Wein and DC star Dustin Nguyen.  Talked to several independent creators from comics to movies.  I love how these guys are so determined and motivated.

lbcc fall 171 Long Beach Comic Con 2012 Experience

Just like previous Long Beach Comic Cons, the artist were really friendly.  Punisher cover artist, Tim Bradstreet was helping aspiring artists.  He was giving pointers and surprisingly honest.  Can’t beat receiving constructive criticism from one of the best artists …

Osamu Tezuka Unpublished Osamu Tezuka Manga Discovered in Tokyo Used Book Store

Over 60 years ago, manga master Osamu Tezuka (Astro Boy, Kimba the White Lion), only into his late teens, gave a 19-page unpublished manga to a friend from middle-school. It was only this past April that the manga surfaced in a used book store in Tokyo.

Tezuka Productions confirmed that the work was done by the late master (who passed away in 1989) then purchased the unpublished work for the equivalent of $37,000 US dollars. The book speaks out on themes of post-WWII society, the black market, and food shortages. The folks over at Tezuka Prods. were completely ignorant …

Bryan Singer Confirmed to Direct Next X-Men

bryansingerxmen Bryan Singer Confirmed to Direct Next X Men

Yep, he’s back. Word was going around last week that Matthew Vaughn was stepping down as director and that this might happen but now it’s been confirmed: Bryan Singer is back. You might remember that he directed the first two X-Men films which were considered by many to be pretty successful (although I still think Storm was more of a Light Rain but that’s for another article).

So the next X-Men will be a sequel to First Class called Days of Future Past. In it, there will be some time jumping apparently as our heroes will be trying to prevent something …

Comic Review: Superman Earth One

sme1galley 082 copy 02 Comic Review: Superman Earth One

With the release of Superman Earth One Volume Two just under a week away, I thought it the appropriate time to revisit the first in the DC: Earth One line and see how it stacks up a year later. Initially I was not a fan of this book, the art style wasn’t really my cup of tea and Clark came off as more whinny than lost or confused, oh how stupid I was.

The main theme of this book is, what do you want to do with your life? Its something all of us have to face in adulthood and the …
