JOSEPH GORDON LEVITT SIN CITY A DAME TO KILL FOR ROBERT RODRIGUEZ FRANK MILLER Sin City: A Dame to Kill For Gets Joseph Gordon Levitt... oh and Josh Brolin, too

There’s been a lot of rumors swirling lately about JGL possibly being cast in Guardians of the Galaxy but now it’s been confirmed that he will in fact be taking the role of Johnny in this latest Frank Miller/Robert Rodriguez project instead, a part which was originally offered to Johnny Depp. Levitt had this to say: ”I love how the first movie uses VFX, not to make fake things look real, but to create a heightened world unburdened by the look and feel of reality.  Plus, nobody makes a badass like Mr. Rodriguez.” This new character of Johnny not …

Comic Book Review: All-New X-Men, Vol. 1: Here Comes Yesterday

Comic Book Review: All-New X-Men, Vol. 1: Here Comes Yesterday

Brian Michael Bendis is a man who in my eyes will have a mixed legacy in the comic book industry, while his Ultimate Spider-Man and Daredevil work has been some of the best we will ever see, his Avengers work left much to be desired and was just painfully mediocre throughout, does All-New X-Men fall in with the former or the later? Let’s find out.

This book was and still is quite controversial with die hard Marvel fans who argue that it is impossible to bring in the original five X-Men from the 60s into present time and not just destroy …

First Clip Of Dark Knight Returns Part 2

First Clip Of Dark Knight Returns Part 2

The animated flick, Dark Knight Returns Part 1 was surprisingly great.  I thought it would be crap but I loved the tone and slow pace.  Just don’t confuse slow as boring because the movie was exciting.  I loved the buildup.

Part 2 comes out Jan 29th and Wb has released the first clip of slow ass Batman taking out slow reflex cops.  These clips look silly because it’s taken out of context of the entire film…I hope.  Anyways….

Comic Book Review: Iron Man Volume 1: Believe

Comic Book Review: Iron Man Volume 1: Believe

STK517530 Comic Book Review: Iron Man Volume 1: Believe

Iron Man is probably the character who’s popularity has benefited most from the MCU and its pretty understandable, both of the Iron Man films are pretty good and Robert Downey Junior is an amazing Tony Stark, this huge spike in popularity made me interested in the character and with the announcement that one of my favorite writers, Kieron Gillen would be writing a new ongoing series, I was understandably excited but sadly with the first story arc over, Marvel Now’s Iron Man is probably the weakest book of the entire initiative.

Kieron Gillen is a character writer, while he can do …

Thoughts on Star Wars, Disney, JJ Abrams and the End of the World

Thoughts on Star Wars, Disney, JJ Abrams and the End of the World

You remember that day, not so long ago, that the voices of a million Star Wars fans cried out at once – and were silenced…?  When the corporate monster Disney announced that it purchased all the rights to the Star Wars franchise from George Lucas spawning a flurry of Disney/Star Wars mashups on Tumbler and causing writers, directors and actors looking to score an iconic role alike to come out of the woodwork and kiss all kinds of Disney butt?

Disney acquires Lucasfilm Bring on the Star Wars mashups Thoughts on Star Wars, Disney, JJ Abrams and the End of the World

(Although I have to admit, I am loving the idea of Stitch as a Sith)

Normally, the prospect of another Star

The Return of She-Ra?

The Return of She-Ra?

For awhile now, DC has been releasing a series of digital comic shorts (via Comixology) for the Masters of the Universe. Each digital comic dedicates a brief story to a particular character in the MOTU mythos. Very recently, a new digital short (8th in the series) was devoted to the most powerful woman in the universe: She-Ra.

Spoiler alerts abound, so do not read any further if you have not read the comic yet.

despera The Return of She Ra?

The story revolves around Adora before becoming She-Ra. In fact, Adora is not referred to as Adora, but as Despera. The Horde is in control of Etheria …

Wonder Woman Casting Gets Underway

Wonder Woman Casting Gets Underway

wonder woman adam hughes Wonder Woman Casting Gets Underway

The CW and Warner Brothers have taken probably the most crucial step toward bringing the Wonder Woman origins TV show to light,: they’ve hired casting agents  Barbara Fiorentino and Danielle Aufiero to fill a role, code named “Iris” (although Deadline reports that it is in fact for Diana), and they’re apparently launching a large-scale search for this actress so if you fit the bill, by all means, send them your headshot and resume ASAP. This part will just be for the pilot, of course, but still, if the pilot gets picked up, chances are they’ll use the same actress. Here are …

Dark Knight Rises Video Preview

Dark Knight Rises Video Preview

Just in time for next week’s release (Dec. 4th) of the film on DVD/Blu-ray. Here’s a 13-minute video of Dark Knight Rises consisting mainly of the crew talking about their roles, and what Nolan wanted to achieve. While it’s mostly an admiration-fest of fellow cast members, it does have some interesting facts about the movie. Enjoy!

undying love Undying Love Adaptation Gets a Director

After putting the final nail in the coffin of his dream to reboot Daredevil this past August, it looks like Joe Carnahan (mostly known for writing The Grey and Smokin’ Aces) is signing on with Warner to direct yet another adaptation of an Image graphic novel, this one called Undying Love. Warner has been working on this thing all year, it seems, but now with Carnahan the project has both a writer and a director, so it should be full steam ahead.

Here is a synopsis of the limited series from the Image websiteA tale of horror-action,
