The animated flick, Dark Knight Returns Part 1 was surprisingly great.  I thought it would be crap but I loved the tone and slow pace.  Just don’t confuse slow as boring because the movie was exciting.  I loved the buildup.

Part 2 comes out Jan 29th and Wb has released the first clip of slow ass Batman taking out slow reflex cops.  These clips look silly because it’s taken out of context of the entire film…I hope.  Anyways….

Iron Man is probably the character who’s popularity has benefited most from the MCU and its pretty understandable, both of the Iron Man films are pretty good and Robert Downey Junior is an amazing Tony Stark, this huge spike in popularity made me interested in the character and with the announcement that one of my favorite writers, Kieron Gillen would be writing a new ongoing series, I was understandably excited but sadly with the first story arc over, Marvel Now’s Iron Man is probably the weakest book of the entire initiative.

For awhile now, DC has been releasing a series of digital comic shorts (via Comixology) for the Masters of the Universe. Each digital comic dedicates a brief story to a particular character in the MOTU mythos. Very recently, a new digital short (8th in the series) was devoted to the most powerful woman in the universe: She-Ra.

The CW and Warner Brothers have taken probably the most crucial step toward bringing the Wonder Woman origins TV show to light,: they’ve hired casting agents  Barbara Fiorentino and Danielle Aufiero to fill a role, code named “Iris” (although Deadline reports that it is in fact for Diana), and they’re apparently launching a large-scale search for this actress so if you fit the bill, by all means, send them your headshot and resume ASAP. Just in time for next week’s release (Dec. 4th) of the film on DVD/Blu-ray. After putting the final nail in the coffin of his dream to reboot Daredevil this past August, it looks like Joe Carnahan (mostly known for writing The Grey and Smokin’ Aces) is signing on with Warner to direct yet another adaptation of an Image graphic novel, this one called Undying Love. Warner has been working on this thing all year, it seems, but now with Carnahan the project has both a writer and a director, so it should be full steam ahead.
