Comic Book Review: Star Wars #1 – 2 (Dark Horse)

Comic Book Review: Star Wars #1 – 2 (Dark Horse)

star wars comics Comic Book Review: Star Wars #1 2 (Dark Horse)

Anyone who loves Star Wars will love this comic book. Whether you’re interested in comics or not, there’s just no denying the absolute awesomeness of this series. The story opens on Leia, Luke and Wedge, who are flying X-wings outside of some distant planet, scouting a new location for the next rebel base. Of course, it isn’t long before an Imperial Star Destroyer shows up and disrupts their work.

The story takes place after the battle for Yavin which in movie terms puts it somewhere between Star Wars IV A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. Darth Vader has …

Batman And Superman Will Team Up Again

Batman And Superman Will Team Up Again

In June, the two most iconic Superheroes will team up once again. DC hasn’t written much about the storyline, except that this is a “going back” story of the New 52 series’, back when Batman and Superman didn’t know of each other, and will meet for the first time. Both are fairly new to their roles. And, more likely, there’s going to be a fight between the two. Actually, that’s going to be a sure thing.

Handpicked by Jim Lee, the artwork will be done by Jae Lee (Dark Tower), while the story will be written by Greg Pak.…

Comic Book Review: Batman Death of the Family

Comic Book Review: Batman Death of the Family

Since the New 52 started back in September of 2011, one writer has gone above and beyond with his work, and that man is Scott Snyder. While he’s made a name for himself with his horror indie book Severed, his work at Vertigo/DC with Swamp Thing and American Vampire, all of which have garnered critical acclaim and fan acclaim and earning him several awards. His Batman work is what I truly love him for and Death of the Family is no different in that respect.

Please note that this is a review of the core storyline that went from Batman #13 …

Because each ticket comes with a signed limited 1/225 variant movie poster created by Scott Pilgrim‘s Brian Lee O’malley and someone named Kevin Tong, who’s a member of Alamo Drafthouse’s collectible art division. Here’s what the poster looks like:

Pictures: Kick-Ass 2

Check out these new images of Kick-Ass 2. I can’t wait for this film to come out, since the first Kick-Ass is one of the best comic book films to date. And, the fact that Jim Carrey is in the sequel makes it much more exciting. The comic-book was hillarious, and depressing at the same time – Millar style. So, here’s hoping for Kick-Ass 2 to follow the feel of the first film, and Millar’s depressing style at the same time.

Comic Book Review: Superior Spider-Man #1 (Spoilers)

Comic Book Review: Superior Spider-Man #1 (Spoilers)

Well my friends the day has come, the first issue of Dan Slott’s Superior Spider-Man is out, a book that has since its announcement earned the hate of many comic book fans and after reading it… The hate has been pretty much justified.

First of all I don’t necessarily hate the idea of Doc Ock becoming Spider-Man, if done well (which its not) could be an interesting arc for the character, but two things bug me about the premise itself, firstly Marvel has a piss poor track record when it comes to deaths and/or changing the status quo of a character.…
