MucaMeow here to share my adventure at Comic-Con this year (A bit late). We knew it would be tough to fit everything in one day, but we were determined. We woke up early Thursday and made our way to the San Diego convention center.

We were accompanied by many attendees from the shuttle to the convention center’s main entrance. The first thing to do was scope out the exhibit hall. The exhibit hall was roomier, but we didn’t have a lot of time to look around – we had panels to attend.

Our first panel was Caprica, Battlestar, and Beyond. …

Los Angeles Anime Expo 2010 Experience

Los Angeles Anime Expo 2010 Experience

I’ve been to Anime Expo, the past couple of years but I still don’t know much about the anime community.  I mainly go for the impressive costumes and the cool people.  While I still wanted to hang out with the cosplayers and take pics this year, I wanted to learn more about the Anime Culture.

So on Saturday, July 3rd, I started asking attendees about their experiences.  I also talked to voice actor Kyle Hebert and several people from Artist Alley.  Although I’m still far from being an Anime expert, I was glad I talked to a wide range of attendees.  …

I Remember…Tranzor Z!

I Remember…Tranzor Z!

I remember sitting in front of the TV when I was 7 years old in 1985 and watching what was probably one of the first Anime’s I’ve ever seen.

Tranzor Z 21 I Remember...Tranzor Z!

Tranzor Z (Mazinger Z) was one of the original giant robot Anime’s. It featured Kouji Kabuto–Tommy Davis in the US as the pilot of the Pileder (Pilder) a hovercraft vehicle that went into the head of the giant Tranzor Z robot. From this hovercraft he would control the awesome robot and use its trademark attack which was a double rocket punch to defeat the enemy.
Fighting along side of Tommy in his …

A Look Back At Eureka SeVen

A Look Back At Eureka SeVen

E7 boxes 1024x734 A Look Back At Eureka SeVen

The Anime Eureka SeVen has had mixed reviews in the past, some people say it’s too long at 50 episodes and others love it. I’d say that I’m in the middle and find it great on a lot of levels such as the story in itself and negative by how annoying the main characters get on their slow road to finding themselves.

The DVD’s took about 2 years to collect. Having to wait every other month for the next disk to come out was like waiting for paint to dry. Most of the disks came out in a special edition which …

This weekend, NERDsociety.com will be attending the Wizard World: Philly, pop culture convention at the Philadelphia Convention center.

Some of the special guests are Patrick Stewart–no description needed. However, I will mention that between Star Trek, X-Men, the Anime Steamboy and countless performances on stage and screen, he is the highlight of this convention.

Also appearing is Bruce Campbell of Evil Dead fame, he has also been on many fantasy TV shows from the Hercules and Xena days where he played the character Autolycus. He also starred in Jack of All Trades and Brisco County Jr.

A comical actor whose voice …

5dlogo 300x162 Yu Gi Oh! The Shining Darkness: Blackwings and Infenities

With Nationals coming soon, Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG players get their decks ready for one of the most challenging duels of their lives. NERDsociety’s two duelists will participate and talk about the 2 decks they will be taking into action, with the addition of The Shining Darkness cards that were just recently released.

Infernity ArchetypeInfernity 300x176 Yu Gi Oh! The Shining Darkness: Blackwings and Infenities

As the newest archetype on the rise, Infernity decks defy the normal playing style of Yu-Gi-Oh.

So far, having more cards in hand then the opponent means more options and more combos are available, which increases the chance of winning. However, the new Infernity cards completely contradict that …

Geek Ink: Tattoos for the Geeky and Nerdy #4

best mortal kombat back tattoo ever seen Geek Ink: Tattoos for the Geeky and Nerdy #4

I think it’s about time for another installment of Geek Ink.  After receiving all the emails and reading all the stories you guys got me thinking.  Aside from my album cover tat of my favorite Jrock band(Dir en grey) I really don’t have any geek ink.  So I decided that I would get something to cover up my botched shark tattoo I have on my other arm.  I’ve been toying with the idea of getting Venom from Spider-man, he has long been my favorite comic book character hence my detest of the 3rd film.  But enough about me …
