Justin Harder likes to create artwork based on comics, video games and Bill Murray!

I saw Justin’s work at WonderCon over the weekend and I was floored.

What stood out were the somewhat abstract characters and color palette.  The characters were mostly lanky but he used colors to make each one’s personality stand out.

Years after Evangelion went by the way side but remained in the memories of fans, Hideaki Anno revived the series in 2007 with The Rebuild of Evangelion. The Rebuild is a series of movies that take a lot from the original Anime series and updates it with cleaner, more modern art and animation and alterations to the story through the plotlines and even whole scenes are changed in order to give the Rebuild of Evangelion a new look.

Artist Ale Garza has worked on titles like Marvel Knights Spiderman, Batgirl, Teen Titans, Supergirl, Witchblade, Vampirella and more recently the death of Deadpool series for Marvel.  His professional career started at the young age of 18 and he’s managed to build quite an extensive resume as an artist working for DC, Top Cow, Zenescope, as well as the aforementioned Marvel.

What an awesome set! Huke, the creator of Black Rock Shooter released his art book in 2012; this special set includes the 200+ page coffee table book in full color with works pertaining to Black Rock Shooter, Steins Gate and other pieces. Also included is the Black Rock Shooter “Beast” Figma action figure.

The set comes packaged in a really cool brown cardboard box that has the same markings as an electronic appliance with the typeface “BLK” featured in bold.

Cosplayers beware! You might want to rethink trying to bring any of your steampunk gear on an airplane. This watch caused a bit of a furor at the Oakland airport when some TSA agents saw it pass through an x-ray machine just before Thanksgiving. As you can imagine, it looked to them like a miniature explosive device and – not being familiar with steampunk – they stopped the owner of the watch, artist Jeoffrey McGann, 49, of Rancho Palos Verdes, and questioned him.

Halloween is my favorite holiday of the year (besides Christmas) and not just because I get to wear a costume. Half of the fun for me is using my sculpting skills to create artwork out of that humongous orange squash. I’ve been in a few pumpkin carving contests at friends’ parties and such and I’ve noticed strategies among the contestants.

Goldeneye was my favorite Nintendo 64 game. The illustration above reminds me of the countless hours I played the game with my brother and my friends. I enjoyed the simplicity of the game. Not to mention it was the first 3D Bond game on the market. The graphics, at that time, was simply unbelievable. And, the option for a 4-player head to head with friends was great fun.

Game Of Thrones is more popular than ever because of the HBO show.  The clans are pretty damn confusing and for this reason,  fans started creating coat of arms for each family.  Take for example the Stark’s.  They’re known for their big ass wolves so that’s what you in their coat of arms.  It was only time before the fans thought of mashing the coat of arms with another nerdy item, superheroes.

I like the slogans for the flags.  Superman is the most epic and Hulk is funny.
