I Remember…Tranzor Z!

I Remember…Tranzor Z!

I remember sitting in front of the TV when I was 7 years old in 1985 and watching what was probably one of the first Anime’s I’ve ever seen.

Tranzor Z 21 I Remember...Tranzor Z!

Tranzor Z (Mazinger Z) was one of the original giant robot Anime’s. It featured Kouji Kabuto–Tommy Davis in the US as the pilot of the Pileder (Pilder) a hovercraft vehicle that went into the head of the giant Tranzor Z robot. From this hovercraft he would control the awesome robot and use its trademark attack which was a double rocket punch to defeat the enemy.

A Look Back At Eureka SeVen

A Look Back At Eureka SeVen

E7 boxes 1024x734 A Look Back At Eureka SeVen

The Anime Eureka SeVen has had mixed reviews in the past, some people say it’s too long at 50 episodes and others love it. I’d say that I’m in the middle and find it great on a lot of levels such as the story in itself and negative by how annoying the main characters get on their slow road to finding themselves.

The DVD’s took about 2 years to collect. Having to wait every other month for the next disk to come out was like waiting for paint to dry. Most of the disks came out in a special edition which …

Movie Review: Toy Story 3

Movie Review: Toy Story 3

Toy Story 3 1 Movie Review: Toy Story 3

Everyone probably knows by now that I’m not the biggest fan of computer animation. I prefer anime myself. I also like the old-fashioned hand-drawn animation. I have no time for the Shrek series as I could barely sit through the first one, but Toy Story is something different. The Toy Story series taps into our love of toys and judging from the emotional responses to the final scenes of Toy Story 3, Pixar has another winner on its hands. Toy Story 3 may be light in plot (it’s basically The Great Escape with toys) but the final scenes contain an emotional …

I first met Ejen Chuang at Anime Expo ’08.  He had his own photo booth by the entrance of the convention center.  I was amazed that with all the professional photography equipments he had, he was doing everything by himself, no assistants at all.  That meant that when he had to take a restroom break, he asked one of the attendees to watch his stuff. Talk about trusting a stranger!  Chuang is a Texas native and learned his photography skills by working with seasoned photographers.

It has almost been two years since I met Chuang and he still sets up booths …

Recently Anime Expo announced to their many loyal attendees that they will be charging extra for the previously free shuttle pass. Luckily for us, everyone decided to leave the AX Block Hotels and move to closer, and overall, cheaper hotels. With the crazy amount of backlash from the AX Community, Anime Expo decided to one-up their own last years policy by providing free shuttle passes to all 4 day attendees. Complimentary. At no extra cost. I guess the AX Community can say they won the battle but not the war.

For more information, shuttle routes, and complete pricing for the …
