Recent Animes: Check ’em Out

Recent Animes: Check ’em Out

I have accumulated a list of recent Animes that you should look into. I think there’s something for everyone here: there’s rebellious rockers, non-conformist world saving, a high school drama/comedy, a college comedy with science, and a serious period drama with samurais. It’s easy to check these out since they’re up on Hulu’s site.

Beck, Mongolian Chop Squad

  • Rough, young, passionate rock drama. A bit rebellious and quite angsty. The story follows a high school kid, Koyuki, who feels a bit out of place. He meets another young man, Ryusuke, that opens his eyes to rock and punk music. Beck

wolvi2 Cosplay Experience With Yosef
Today, we have Yosef as our featured cosplayer.  Yasef caught my attention as he dressed up as one of my favorite games character, Ghost from Modern Warfare 2.  Little did I know he also dressed up as Wolverine.  Below is our cosplay talk.

NS:  How long have you been cosplaying?

Yosef: I have been cosplaying since 2007, so thats somewhat about 4 years if you include this year as well.  I even sort of semi-cosplayed at my first convention. It was sort of a last minute thing, and I ended up wearing my black spider-man Halloween costume.

So now, which costume

Black Rock Shooter: Sexy Anime Style At It’s Best!

Art1 Black Rock Shooter: Sexy Anime Style At Its Best!

From the Good Smile Company comes a Vocaloid spin-off called Black Rock Shooter. The character was created from a song produced from the Yamaha Vocaloid 2 program Hatsune Miku.

For those unfamilar with what the Vocaloid program is: it’s a computer program that sings songs from the words the user types. Hatsune Miku is an Anime themed voice–there are of course more professional sounding voices in other programs such as in Vocaloid 1.

The Miku program had “exploded” after it’s arrival with the creation of statues, figures and other merchandise. YouTube is full of homemade songs and videos–some which …

Today, we have Heidi as our featured cosplayer.  She has been cosplaying for about 4 years and I had to know, what makes cosplaying so great?  Below is my interview:

NERDSociety (NS):  What makes cosplaying so fun?
Heidi: I’m not going to lie. I really enjoy being the center of attention and I love posing for pictures. I also love playing the part of another character for a short time, especially around those who recognizes me and love the character the same way I do.

NS:  Do you cosplay as different characters?
Heidi:
Yes, my current list of characters includes:

Being a Hello Kitty fan, I was happy to receive a Hello Kitty themed thumb drive from Mimoco, Designer USB Flash Drives. I plugged it in to find a folder full of fun Hello Kitty/Mimobot cuteness. This package called mimoDesk (exclusive to Mimobot) included avatars, screen savers, icons and wallpapers.

On the technical side, this particular one was 2 GB, but they are available in 4 GB, 8 GB and 16 GB as well. This was simple to use with no software to install, only fun extras to personalize your computer.

There are many more themes and styles to …

MucaMeow here to share my adventure at Comic-Con this year (A bit late). We knew it would be tough to fit everything in one day, but we were determined. We woke up early Thursday and made our way to the San Diego convention center.

We were accompanied by many attendees from the shuttle to the convention center’s main entrance. The first thing to do was scope out the exhibit hall. The exhibit hall was roomier, but we didn’t have a lot of time to look around – we had panels to attend.

Our first panel was Caprica, Battlestar, and Beyond. …
