Beyonce as Wonder Woman?

“What would be better than Wonder Woman?” says the singer to the LA Times.  “It would be great. And it would be a very bold choice. A black Wonder Woman would be a powerful thing. It’s time for that, right?”

Well, with the trend of female superheroes, I doubt this is going to be a good idea.  The last two female heroes I can remember, Elektra and Catwoman, didn’t fair well in the box office and reviews were poor.  For this to work, it’s got to be taken seriously by a team who is passionate about it.

Joe Johnston to Direct Captain America

From the man that gave us Rocketeer, Honey I Shrunk the Kids, Hidalgo, and Jurassic Park III, Joe Johnston will direct the Marvel produced Captain America movie.  “First Avenger: Captain America” will be released on May 6, 2011 in theatres, so don’t make any plans.  Captain America was Steve Rogers, a scrawny weak lad, who became a super soldier, with the help of an experimental serum, to fight the war for the United States.

After hearing the news, all I could think about was how awful Jurassic Park III was.  But then again, I did enjoy Rocketeer, which both the Rocketeer and Captain America are a biproduct of World War II.

Did you know? Captain America made a brief appearance in The Incredible Hulk DVD/Blu-ray deleted scenes.
