Watcha watcha watcha watcha!! What am I going to do with all my junk in my hump? I will tell you-use it as a nice seat cushion while playing Starcraft2 Beta!! (more of that later) Can you keep a secret? I really don’t like pop music but I admit that the Black Eyed Peas can put on one hell of a production show. I went out to the concert with my girlfriend because she is a huge fan and we decided that it would be cool. The ticket said that the show started at around 6:30 and in my mind I thought to myself “why the heck would they come on so damn early!?!?” I have been to many concerts but never a huge production pop music one and never at the Staple Center in Los Angles. So I and she arrive a little early but just to get some drinks and check out the area. Sure enough as I suspected the show started and 6:30 but not with B.E.P. LMFO were one of the two openers. These two guys have the impression of the two creators of South Park instead of making funny cartoons that are satire instead it is music and it is 15 seconds of fame then out they go! The next opener was Ludacris. He was not half bad but the vibe that he was playing was almost a little confusing. Singing “Area Codes (Hoes)” to a bunch of white people and kids does not make for a raw feel. However Ludacris is someone that I would be open to seeing and sure enough I got that chance. And finally the headliners arrived on stage just a little after 8:30. They started with “Let’s Get It Started”.

With all the great music that these guys have made together I must say that the production show that they put on was well worth the ticket value. From a moving platform for a Dj set by Will I Am, a flying motorcycle, and lights that would make the Vegas strip look like a keychain light there was nothing that took the viewers eyes off the main stage. I lied! Maybe a glimpse of Fergie’s nice body or maybe her taking a leak ; ) Overall the set times were fast, no intermission and it had people on the edge of the seats or ledge of a 300 foot plunge to your death (arena seating haha). Overall I would rate this a 4 out of 5 because of the easy access to the venue, hassle free, great set and awesome production for the price of the ticket.
One last thing. The concert I attended was being broadcast live at Regal Cinemas nationwide in 3D. This was a success for the B.E.P and possible a prelude to future performances from top ranking production shows. Daft Punk possibly?
Looks like that B.E.P have got the Tron itch too! Check out this video in HD courtesy of LiveInATL.
