The movie we’ve all been waiting for is here, The Avengers! This movie has been planned since the release of Iron Man in 2008. Director Joss Whedon has created a cinematic masterpiece that will rival Nolan’s Batman films. Each of the Avengers had entire movies solely dedicated to their origins, that’s the first big plus of The Avengers. This allows Whedon to completely focus on the main plot and the interaction between the characters. Many fans were worried that too many characters appear in the movie and some wouldn’t get their due. This is not the case as every character gets its own badass moment that makes the Avengers feel like a team.
The two actors who really stole the show for me were Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Hiddleston. They both did their comic book characters justice. I could just listen to Tony Stark talk smack for hours and hours. The action scenes are well done and really have that comic book feel. All of the characters do the stuff that they did in the comics. The alien threat, while not as famous or well known like the Skrull and Kree, do allow Whedon to do what ever he wants with them.
The banter between the Avengers is great. I just love seeing the heroes not get along all the time. These are all people who have worked alone and now they are forced to work together to save humanity. If there were any negatives in the film, I would say that Captain Americas costume look sreally bad. I just wish they kept his WW2 costume. Hawkeye gets shanked out of all the characters, I mean he really does do some cool things here and there but he is definitely the character who does not get his moment in the spotlight.
There is a post credits scene that just make you wanna see Avengers 2 like right NOW. I’m not gonna say what it is but you guys should probably watch Thor and pay close attention to the stuff in Odin’s armory. If you guys can figure out what I mean then you will be in for a treat.
