Who would have thought a 3-D movie about ten foot tall blue creatures would be the box office champ of all time?
I had high hopes for Avatar when I first saw the trailer but a lot of the internet critics were already hailing it as a failure. Overall, I thought the movie was okay but what set it apart was the movie experience. The 3-d and special effects were something I had never seen before.
By the end of today, Avatar will beat another James Cameron flick,Titanic, as the box office champ of all time . Sure, James Cameron is arrogant, but he sure knows how to connect with the audience. Avatar will probably finish with around $2.1 billion by the end of it’s run, while Titanic finished with $1.8 billion.
Based on ticket sales though, Gone With The Wind is still number one, while Titanic is at the sixth spot and Avatar at 26th.

To celebrate James Cameron’s success, here he is at the airport brushing off a fan. Who’s the douchebag, the fan or Cameron? You decide:
