Sony just released the first picture of Andrew Garfield in the Spider-Man costume. The picture is getting mixed reactions from messageboards. Personally, I like the design. While Tobey Maguire’s costume looked good in the Spider-Man trilogy, if there was one thing to complain about, it would be his physique. He was too stocky to be Spider-Man. In the comics, Peter Parker is really skinny but fit. Andrew Garfield captures the skinny look really well. The Spider-Man reboot also stars Gwen Stacy and scheduled for released on July 3, 2012.
Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man in the reboot movie.
Spidey depicted in the comics.

I like the pic too. Mark Bagley (the best Spidey comic artist ever in my opinion) has always portrayed Spider-man/Peter Parker as very lean and not muscular. That would be the character of Venom/Eddie Brock. The casting of Topher Grace from That 70s Show certainly failed in that regard.

I’m really not digging the Andrew Garfield-as-Spider-Man picture. He’s look too scrawny as the character. The difference with Tobey Maguire, was the fact that he was in great shape in the first two films (flabby in the Spider-Man 3).

I’m really digging the new Spidey outfit, I’m not actually sure, but was Tobey Maguire’s suit CGI? Because it looks quite cartoony, but yeah, Garfield in my opinion is a better actor then Toby any day and the suit is wayyy better, so yeah, this new Spider Man will be great.
